My arms are relatevly skinny and I eat quite a lot but I only get fat in my tummy area... I always have to do sit-ups in order to keep my stomach toned, however, I eat about 4800 calories every day (or at least try too with protein suppliment) and my chest area/stomach area I can see the results, but my arms are still skinny the entire arm especially my wrist.. (i can wrap my middle finger and thumb completely around it) any idea on how to bulk up my arms... I do curls but I try not to because I don't want to get cut.. I want to be thick.

what other excercises do you do? I find chinups with palms in, deadlifts, and pretty much any other big pulling movement for th back adds some nice mass to your arms. I like to finish off a good backworkout with two good bicep isolation exercises, usually BB curls, and preacher hammr curls, or just plain preacher curls with DBs to keep blalancein my arms.

How much do you weigh and how tall are you? It looks like you may be eating too much/ not doing the right exercises if you only gain in your stomach.

There's not much you can do to improve wrist size, i can wrap my middle finger an thumb around mine too, but this is a good thing as the bigger your arm gets, the bigger the taper from forearm to wrist is gonna look.

BS man muscles either grow, stay the same, or get smaller. You can't "tone" or anything like that.

Most of your arms are tricep, not bicep, so be sure to do exercises for them eg close-grip bench press.

my upper arm is nice and toned but my forearm/wrist/hand is still quite skinny. usually what i try to do is wrist curls, put my forearm down on my leg when im sitting and do curls with a dumbell in my hand. i cant say it helps the wrist, but it definitely helps the forearm.

You can try a day completely devoted to arms, hit them hard and intense.

Here's what my arm workout consisted of.

1x15
3 x 6 straight bar curls

1x15
3x6 close grip bench

1x15
1x12
1x10 reverse cable curl

3x8 skullcrushers

2x6-8 seated DB hammer curl
1 x burn standing DB hammer curl

2x10-15 Dips
1xfailure (3 negatives) dips

Here's an example... and this is what I believe, Right now I am skinny and if I just lift weights and all I will just get "cut" and look like this guy on the right:

See how he's cut and seemingly a low body fat? But he's STILL SMALL and if I were to give him a chop he'd probably fly back.

Now, this is what I am trying to become... Thick. So I figure just eating A LOT of protein and carbs and then cutting?

I am shooting for this shape:

See the difference, this is thick and if I were to give 'em a chop they would probably stand in the same spot.

So that's what I mean by not wanting to get cut but thick. I am just looking for how to do this because I have the passion and dedication for it. Right now I am 6'2" around 150-155 or so.. my goal is to reach 200lbs so I am eating Steak every night, White Rice, Potatoes, Getting at least 150 grams of protein from Protein Bars, Shakes throughout the day and food. My diet consists of everything high protein/high carbs. Never eat junk food or anything. and to the occasional work out.

Here is a picture of my body currently

Any other tips on what I would need to do?

Stop *****ing and start DEADLIFTING. Then grab some barbells and start doing heavy military presses until you feel like your delts are going to explode from your shoulders.

christ, you wanna get big and therefore NOT lift weights?

Me thinks you got something reversed, mate.

If you wanna get big, don't do cardio. There is no way to get big (ie building muscle mass) without lifting weights unless you wanna be a chubby lard. If you are not lifting weights the proteins will not go into your muscles to build them up and the fat WILL stay put (as you're finding out).

AMEN BROTHER!!!!! Don't belive the hype that certain exercises make you "cut" or "toned". Like Jippii said, muscles either grow, stay the same, or get smaller. And just doing basic exercises like curls and tricep extensions will increase the size of your arms.

The best way to build up your arms is, like I said, through heavy lifts, like deadlifting.

The best exercises to ACCOMPANY this would be close grip benches and heavy curls. Also, you could try farmer's walk (grabbing heavy dumbells and walking around), or the barbell "pinch," to build up your forearms.

But either way, the big lifts should be your priority.

No offense man, but please think about it: Your wrists are all bones. Thats just genetics. No way you will make your wrists thicker by working out as there are no muscles that you can enlarge.

First off sorry for not editing but im too lazy to go back now...

There is no such difference as working out for being cut OR thick.

take 2 people both scrawny in the beginning.

One of them starts working out but doesnt get too far. That person will look like ur cute dude in that pic.

The other persons does the same thing but is more dedicated and does everything better than person #1 and thus passes this stage of looking just "cut" and will put on more and more muscle..and will put on some bodyfat too cause of bulking up...finally that person will look like these thick guys in the pic.

You get what i mean?

Eulogy kiss my ass you d!ck. I don't need your pathetic comments, I ask a simple question and expect a reasonable answer. Keep your comments to yourself. Hell don't even read my thread if it bothers you so much. I have passion in weightlifting and I've been doing it for over 4 years and I am asking for simple questions so your comments are invalid. I never said I will "never lift weights once I get thick" as you can see in my picture I AM LIFTING. I lift twice a week and do push-ups every other day. So fvck off. To the rest of your advice thank you.

Unistork, up you calories man, and start lifting harder. Look up this book on amazon.com "Massive Muscles in 10 weeks" and "The New High Intensity Training" to get an idea of how to train.
