How would you mix Grey Goose vodka? Or would you just drink it straight on ice?

You put the Grey Goose aside and go get some Van Gogh Double Espresso vodka.

Believe me, you won't regret it.

Put a good splash in a cafe au' lait, light up a Gurkha and let the world pass you by.

I'm not one for creamy fu-fu drinks, but I got to try the Van Gogh flavored vodkas at the last martinifest (special thanks to Mr. Rollo T.) and the espresso and the chocolate vodkas are fukking AMAZING.

I just like Orange Juice Mixed with vodka. Or maybe, Squirt or 7UP.

The best way I've drank grey goose was walking out of the Spearmint Rhino in Vegas last St. Pattys day, at six in the morning, wondering how I acquired the giant full-ass bottle of it I had in my hands!

But seriously, I only like unflavored vodka in screwdrivers. I was hooked on Van Gogh for a bit a few years ago. The double espresso was a bit too rich for me though. The best vodka drink I've had lately is a ginger press. (ginger vodka, and soda water) I only know of one place to get it, but it is REALLY good, considering I only drink beer, except shots.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

If you intend on mixing it,then find the cheapest vodka and get that instead. All vodka tastes the same in a mixed drink. People who claim it tastes better are making themselves believe that in justifying the purchase.

Only reason to spend $40 on a bottle of goose is to take shots, otherwise you're wasting money.

Gimme a big bottle of Disaronno for the same price any day.

drink gray goose straight..

On ice with a squeeze of lemon is my personal way of taking vodka shots. Save the mixing for bottom tier and well spirits.

Heheh,..people still buy Grey Goose? The Spirit Journal downgraded GG to a 3 star vodka from a 5 star when Bacardi bought out the brand and they went to cheaper distillation. That was about 2 years ago.

That explains why their sales have gone in the toilet. One thing about the economy is that we will still buy booze to wile away the hours when the electricity is shut off for non payment!

When I was in Connecticut my brother told me Van Gogh is his all time favorite brand of vodka.

Lucky me!

Cheap vodka does NOT taste the same with a mixer, and it gives you a hangover if you drink too much.

I stick to the middle of the road. At home I buy Svedka for a "clean" tasting vodka, and Luksosowa potato vodka when I want a little flavor. Both are under $20 for a 1.75. Lotta bang for the buck and they both taste good.

I think it really depends on the ****tail or martini. If I'm having a Bloody Mary or a simple Screwdriver, then I'd agree that one 'premium' vodka might taste as well as another. I could definitely tell the difference between a Fleischman's (blech!) and our own, but when you've got a strong mix, like a spicy bloody mary then you may not notice between a Goose and Absolut.

However, in more subtle flavored drinks, I could definitely tell you what's good and what's not. You'd definitely notice a flavor difference in an espresso martini between our Double Espresso and 3 Olives or if the place just made it with regular vodka and mixers. I could easily tell the difference between our Acai-Blueberry vs. Stoli, in fact I've done just that several times.

Who cares if someone enjoys Grey Goose that's their cup of tea right? Just tell the guy how to drink his down graded crap, lol.Reading further down the posts, I didn't know drinking was that deep. Now I feel like an uneducated social drinker. Perhaps one day if I'm fortunate to be in Florida again and run into you(Rollo), you can enlighten me. Normally, I drink my alcohol with ice and some women gave me hell for it, as though I was desecrating something sacred; but I could care less... mixing drinks with juice or pop and ice is my style (hopefully I don't accidentally commit suicide oneday with these experiments). I once went out with a lady I was seeing with her kids and she orderd some red wine that wasn't cold. What happened next still ranks high in my most embarrassing moments. I took a sip and had an involuntary reaction I just sprayed her 12 yr old daughter sitting across from me. I still don't know what caused the reaction (I'm thinking it was because the drink wasn't chilled) I'm glad the poor kid found humor in it. Moments later she spilled her drink too (and no it wasn't alcoholic). To the OP my advice is alway drink on the rocks. Bad advice maybe, I once strayed and well you know what happened.

Why drink Grey Goose when a good bottle of Imperia cost about the same?...Infact I could think of about dozen or so vodkas that are better for the price those hacks charge.

I like vodka and grapefruit...salt the rim for a salty dog, which is also on the money.

Otherwise vodka is to be chilled and shot.

Was I being obvious? I seriously thought he was going to blow his load when I talked about you.

He's a bartender part time at Friday's and it's on his recommendation that they even stock the stuff. He loves Van Gogh.

We both do. Thanks for turning me on to it. Seagrams can suck my sac.

Leave it to Moon to perfectly clarify our discussion. I used to take cheap bottles of vodka and gin (the cheapest sh!t I could find) and run them through a Brita filter a few times. You'd be very surprised how smooth the end result is. No lagging iron taste in the background and it never gave me a hangover.

I don't know what type of crap the cheap companies use as filler but I would get the worst headaches until I started filtering my booze.

Heh, so the Brita trick actually works? I read about it before but thought they were kidding.

Must try that then, because booze is expensive as hell up here as it is (heavy taxes), so getting premium stuff costs an arm and a leg.

i do not know brands of vodka, as i always just bought the cheap stuff and mixed it , since im such a chick .... but i know that when you go to a regular bar, you get the same cheap crap that you are used to in your drink. but when you go to a really nice place, upscale , bars, hotels, resorts, you get the really good stuff.

let me tell you why my reply matters to you, since i am a chick :
1. i must drink alot of the cheap stuff to get drunk enough to want to get naked. then when i do, like any other chick, i can get pretty mean before its all over with.
2. when i drink the good stuff, i may only need ONE single drink and have a perfect evening.

with that being said, i like vodka with cranberry juice or vodka with oj and peach snipes.
