Here's the psychology behind it:

A girl either wants to (a) kiss you, or (b) not kiss you. If you guys are hittin it off, chances are high she'll want to make out, especially given the nature of parties or clubs and alcohol. The only thing that needs to be taken care of at that point is the usual awkwardness that comes with a first kiss. This eliminates that awkwardness.

I think I talked to a loooooooong time ago about Davis but just wonderin do you go to college there? I am starting my 2nd year here and despite what people say I love it here, there are always parties, sheitty weather lately though

Yeah, I love it here. I'm graduating after this year, but I've got nothing planned other than to stick around for another year anyway. In what dorms did you live last year?
