would you keep as a friend a guy that betrayed his best friend and banged his girlfriend?

I have a 'friend' who did this to another friend of mine. Since then I do not consider this guy my friend anymore which is a pity cause we were good friends but because of what he did to this other guy, now I dont trust him, and besides, he's acted really selfish in different occasions and caused me some trouble.

Thoughts?

I've been in a similar situation. A selfish guy will always be a selfish guy, so look out. If I were in your spot, I wouldn't regard him as a 'friend' anymore and completely cut off all contact.

See, the thing about a selfish guy is that he doesn't care if one of his friends suffers from his actions. Selfishness can get you success and if he has success being selfish, he will continue being selfish. Do you want someone like that as your friend?

I've had a supposed friend from university trying to do that too. Hitting on my girlfriend when I was away from the city, she was sending me shots of the texts he was sending her and laughing at it. I texted him to ask him what the hell he thinks he's doing and to back off, in a polite way as could be. I later found out he was trying it on with two other friends' girlfriends too. A pr!ck if there ever was one.

I decided to stay away from him and downgrade him from friend to 'guy I know', a few months ago.

Anyway, it is a pity cause I considered him a good buddie for more than 6 years until he betrayed his best friend, and from that moment he's become more and more selfish in general.
He's tried to reinitiate contact with me etc, but I've had to ignore him.

It sucks cause I am running out of good friends in the last few years.
Some of them get into a relationship and they vanish from Earth. Another one works a lot. And this one I talked about I cannot trust him anymore, ...jeeez...

I knew a guy like this several years ago. Slimy opportunist. He'd actually take a half-bitten, slobbered up sandwich of yours if you turned your back on it. After my ex and I broke up, she confessed that he hit on her several time while we were together. As the saying goes, with friends like these who needs enemies?

Abundance mentality can be applied to same sex friends too. Like women, they can also be replaced, but either way, remember, better alone than in bad company.
