What is the best cologne in your opinion? I am going to be buying some new cologne, and I want some really good stuff. I am willing to spend 50 bucks on it, if the cologne is really really good. I especially want something that smells really clean and fresh. Any suggestions?

I think they have a section under Archives it's on the front page of it where people posted what colognes are best for them. But keep in mind every cologne will act differently on each persons body.

But anyways my collection

Aqua di Gio
Burberry London (really good)
Boss
Dolche & Gabana
also Jaun Paul Gutier

There absolutely is no best cologne. Everybody's going to swear theirs is the best kept secret in cologne and it's the one that gets them all the compliments from chicks....and every one of them is different. You should get a cologne based on three (maybe four) things:

1. One girls reputedly like
2. One you can stand, or even like
3. One that isn't too popular so that you don't smell like every other guy who wears cologne (scent is tied to memory more than any other sense)
4. Not so important, especially if you're only interested in attracting chicks with it, but one that you could wear for office/school as well as "romantic wear"

Perfumeemporium.com has tons of customer reviews on almost any cologne you could imagine. And there are thousands.

What I have: Chanel Allure (girls fvcking love it), Swiss Army (same, although I think it attracts a somewhat younger crowed), Burberry London (more for colder/evening/romantic, but very nice), Burberry Brit (very interesting, unique, 'warm' scent).

One thing you can do is go to a department store cologne counter and ask for tons of samples, try them out and ask girls how they smell on you.

One other quick tip, I'm not sure if this is always true... but colognes mix different for each person, how it smells out of the bottle or on a piece of sample paper is different than how it smells on your skin or after you sweat. So best thing to do is somehow try it on yourself first for a day... if you have the time. And ask around for opinions. Worse thing is to buy a great smelling cologne and have it somehow smell uncannily like bologne when you put it on your skin.

This is true, body chemistry differs from person to person. Something that smells really good on me smells totally different on someone else, different chemical structure. Although, to this point I have not received a bad comment of my choice in fragrances:

- Rochas 'Man'
- Chanel 'Platinum Egoiste' *personal favorite*
- Burberry London
- Givenchy Pour Homme
- Armani 'Mania'

A good example of the effects of wearing a cologne that is too popular is "The Axe Effect" and Tag. The advertisements were directed towards the younger audience and made you think that if you wore their cologne, you'd get laid. So, every PUA went out and bought their own bottle of Axe. Every woman knows what Axe smells like, and every guy does too. Guys wearing this cologne generally get blown off.

Some that I like are Cool Water, Le Male, Fierce by Abercrombie, Curve, Dolce & Gabbana and Marc Jacobs for Men.

Asking women on their favorite colognes and which one they like best out of some samples you get is a great and easy way to approach women.

Go to the Nordstrom or whereever, spray a different cologne on each wrist, also get a sample strip or two with another cologne, and walk around the mall looking for girls. Walk up and ask them which one they think smells best. And ask if they have any favorites.

Good Luck.

Wear something light and fresh with a citurs scent during the day or at work, like:

-Molton Brown

-Facconable

-Ferragamo

At night, something woody, spicy, or musk:

-Armani Mania

-Escada Magnetism

-John Varvatos

Make sure your soap, deodorant, and moisturizer doesn't overpower the cologne. Use unscented products, or buy the entire line from the manufacturer.

Yea there are always new scents on the market, so its worth making another thread.

Like stated above, wear fragrance-free anti-persperant and soap/bodywash.

Stuff I like lately:

Pi (signature scent)
Burburry Brit
Hannae Mori
Sexual

And yes, I prefer sweet warm scents.

Do not wear these unless you WANT to smell like her ex BF:
Aqua Di Gio
Swiss Army
CK 'anything'

The city that sleeps. Sometimes.
i currently use

-chanel platinum egoist (DUH!)
-Jean Paul Gaultier (second favorite)
-Very Sexy (the original, not VS2)

im just finishing off VS, but CPE and JPG are my favorites. Soooo money.

anyways, it all depends on how it smells on you. by the way, i don't use anything else thats scented, my deodorant/aftershave/etc are all unscented.

I'll witness how good Kenneth Cole Black is.

Don't wear it when it's hot/humid out though. It doesn't last.

Best time to wear it is when it's cool and dark.

Picked up Bvlgari Aqva last night from Macy's. Wearing it out tonight. . .I'll keep ya posted on the results.

Remember, sometimes you will get a compliment because the girl recognizes the scent as one of the more expensive brands. A good cologne smells nice and shows a girl that you are willing ot spend a little extra money to look good and smeel clean.

I personally use Dolce & Gabbana and Black Code.

Don't take a bath in your cologne, just a spray or a dab directly onto your skin should do. I prefer to put it on my chest, because, as a taller guy, when a girl is in close, her nose will be around that height, and she can get a nice refreshing wiff of the cologne.
