Berlin 1945, did Soviet troops rape all women?

I studied history in America, in North Miami Beach High School. There they told me that in 1945 Soviet troops took Berlin and raped all women.

That is a lie. They lied to me. As a matter of fact Soviet troops operated under a directive signed by Stalin. Idea was to go in and overthrow Nazi cancer, not rape women, or rob Germany. Rapists, murderers, robbers were to be shot. Isolated incidents did take place of course, but you had to be nuts to disobey orders, punishment was a military tribunal and death by firing squad.

Hell yeah they did. They raped the young and old, children and grandmothers. IIRC the figure was around 250k raped and some 20k committed suicide and/or perished from the injuries. The Russians were (are?) barbarians for more reasons than rape. They killed 20 million, far more than the Third Reich. I wouldn't say it's par for the course. The Americans and British didn't have a policy of mass rape. The Germans didn't, either.

Then there is a directive from Stalin, anyone who raped, robbed, was to be shot - I guess for history's sake. The only one who is saying that acts of mass rape took place are Americans, to which they are lying, fvcking liars.

This. Besides the evidence and witnesses, no one has any incentive to paint Germans as victims or present the soviet army in a bad light. Nazi Germany is always presented as the worst and the Soviets were on the side of the allies. Japan and Russia's atrocities have always been swept under the rug by the West. Imperial Japan wasn't even an ally but committed atrocities equal to the Nazi, but you never hear about them.

The mass rapes were nothing compared to what many of the German men taken prisoner by the soviets endured. To be fair, the Nazis were far from kind to the soviets. It's just silly to claim the soviets were any better than the Nazis though. They were worse. The Nazis although increasingly ruthless and brutal were a very disciplined army.

Oh please. That's such a load of crap. I've watched documentaries interviewing Russian soldiers who bragged about the rapes with a smile on their face.

And no, it's not just the Americans saying acts of mass rape occurred, it's the women of Berlin who had to endure it.

What's next, the Russians beat America to the moon?

I understand that in times of war a lot of bad sh1t is going to happen: it's almost a necessity.

And I'm sure that plenty of American, British and German soldiers did their share of raping. In their case, though, they were a small minority and it was frowned upon by the majority. Most of the Europeans (and I include Americans here, because they're of European descent) were more disciplined. If you look at history in its entirety, Indo-Europeans are the most civilized. They've created wealthy, great societies, while the rest of the world is still living in squalor by comparison.

Seriously? Of course they did. Now did they rape every woman? No, but a lot of women? Yes.

Teutonic and slavic people back then had no love loss in the previous 50+ years so there was a lot of built up aggression. It's war. A lot of people can't handle even that simple explanation and realize that during war, a whole lot of bad sh!t is gonna happen and you just might be on the receiving end of it.
