There is a certain truth to this in the case of very large people, over 6'10" or so. The heart has to work much harder to pump blood around a much larger circulatory system and leads to a greater chance of heart failure. For the majority of tall people, such as those between 6'2" and 6'6", they have nothing to really worry about.

If it was this significant, wouldn't they charge tall people insane life and health insurance premiums?

hmph.. sounds like a rationalization for being "short".. imo.. 5'9 isnt that short, im 5'8 at 16 (hopefully still have a few inches to grow.. ill be happy with a 5'10)

anyway.. i dont think your height has to do with health.. yes ppl have pointed out that a lot of the abnormal ppl who are extremely tall 7ft+ die younger.. and the world record person who was like 10ft died in his 30s.. but then thats cuz its an abnormality.. same goes with dwarves.. the shortest person in the world was 3ft and died when he was in his 20s.. so yeah.

The dinosaurs died out and they were big. The meek shall inherit the Earth as they say. I do think the bigger you are the longer to recover and so on. Like the bigger tennis players when injured take longer to recover.

Now I'm 5'8 and I don't like my height. I'm also 26 so I wear platforms when I can from hiteshoes.com

I wish I was taller but there's nothing I can do about it now. The only way to get taller at my age is the russian method of cracking your bones. But that costs heaps and kills like hell and puts you out of action for a long time.

So all you can focus on is the things you can change. Like working out, your conversational skills etc

being tall means good genes....and being short means having bad genes?

Well, this is what I've read and which is why (allegedly) women are instinctively attracted to taller guys. I guess height and size in general at least portrays good genes, because it suggests physical strength and alpha male qualities.

unless you're over 7 feet tall you won't have any serious problems from being tall. its' like saying larger breeds of dogs have more problems with their health and live shorter lives, when in reality most of the time it's the opposite.
