As a Christian, we are supposed to treat others we would like to be treated and turn the other cheek to insults and if someone physically attacks us.
While I like the philosophy, sometimes I think following this role makes you look weak and can be an open invitation for the a-holes of this world to take advantage of you.
Anyone else hear what I am saying?
The bible doesnt say to not defend yourself. Look at David and Goliath. Jesus said the "turn the other cheek" thing when someone asked him how they can be more like him. That is what Jesus did, but Jesus also didnt put up with any shyt. He went to the temple and yelled at the hypocrites and threw their stuff around. When Jesus turned the other cheek, he made his attackers look like assh0les, and proved he was better than them. He LET himself be crucified, cuz God told him to.
If you want to be a Christian, you have to have the faith that this life is just a road to our real destination. God makes it clear that the road is very bumpy and hard as hell to go down, but in the end, all the shyt we go through in this life will be worth it the end, as long as we follow Gods will.
Now everybody, read this: Noone is trying to convert anyone, and this is not a religious debate. The poster was simply asking a question about a certain religious principle, so if you arent a believer, dont fvcking worry about it! I hate "religions," but I belive in the MESSAGES in the bible. Dont blame God because people distort everything He says.
