Ahhhh very clear. I never had a cheat meal nor did i ever add more time to my cardio.

But right now my goal is to lose some more body fat and ripp my muscles. As you know i grow a lot of muscle, but its just bulky and big right now.

So if i was to lose my body fat and continue lefting the same way i did before my muscles will get ripped and outlined?

And i used to take A LOT of why protein. I think about 100-124 grams a day of that shake. This not including the protein that came with my food.

Anyways should i cut down on that, i dont want my size to increase anymore but just get outlined.
yes, keep your routine and diet exactly the same except for the changes I mentioned.

Zero, I ask you this .. put an endomorphic guy on say a 3000kcal diet, with 60% carbs as you advise. 1800kcal right? Or about 450g carbs a day.

I don't know ANY endomorphic guy who won't just get grossly fat on 450g of carbs a day. And most mesomorphs too!

You can't work with numbers bro.. a lot of what you say applies to you and you alone. Would I follow the same diet as you? Hell no.. Would you follow the same diet as me? Hell no..

Holy $hit 3000cal diet!!! I can see your point in this example. I would think for a guy to be on a 3000cal diet he would have to be Very Tall, Very big, Do construction for a job, and lift like a World Class body Builder!

No I wouldn't use your diet. From what you say you lift I am guessing I am about 1/3 your size so I do agree.

Shouldn't you cut out just saturated fats and lower carbs when cutting?

From I can get out of this post so far is Lift heavy and hard don't change your diet and you will get cut eventually. Am I reading this wrong?

Why shouldn't you do higher reps and use isolation exercises when cutting?

LOL .. I TAKE IN ABOUT 4000 CALORIES EVERY DAY AND I AM SEDENTARY FOR THE MOST PART (AND NO, HALF THOSE CALORIES DO NOT COME FROM CHOCOLATE DONUTS ALTHOUGH I WISH THEY DID). AND I'M NOT A PRO BBER BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION BUT BIGGER THAN AVERAGE

NO NEED TO CUT SAT FATS (AS LONG AS YOU'RE NOT TAKING IN TOO MANY NORMALLY) BUT CARBS YES, THIS IS WHAT I SAID.. REPLACE CARBS WITH VEGGIES

From I can get out of this post so far is Lift heavy and hard don't change your diet and you will get cut eventually. Am I reading this wrong?

THE ROUTINE THAT BUILT YOUR MUSCLE WILL KEEP YOUR MUSCLE.. YOUR DIET NEEDS GENTLE CHANGES (LOWER CARBS) PLUS MORE CARDIO OVER TIME

Why shouldn't you do higher reps and use isolation exercises when cutting?

AS BEFORE THE ROUTINE THAT BUILT YOUR MUSCLE WILL KEEP YOUR MUSCLE.. IF YOU GREW A HUGE BACK DOING 600LB DEADLIFTS AND 350LB BENT ROWS AND SUDDENLY START DOING CABLE ROWS AND BACK EXTENSIONS WILL YOU KEEP YOUR MUSCLE? NO..
last post of the day, it's late and I need sleep.. g'night everyone.

Ah. I love this example.

Look at powerlifters.
BIG MOTHERF*CKERS. Wouldn't you agree?
Look at Marius Pudzinowski (SP?) of the strong man competitions. WHEW. The guy is a beast.

They don't need to lift 200lbs 15 times. No, instead they decide to lift 800, just a couple times. Your body doesn't really need to get stronger if you aren't using heavy weights. Strength generally leads to muscle gains.

NONE of the power lifters or Strong Men are Chiseled!

Doing High Reps will not make your Muscles Disappear only get Chiseled!

To get cut you simply want to cut your bodyfat, by altering your diet and increasing cardio. Keep the weight aspects the same as you do to bulk, although you might want to lower the weight used.

Higher reps does not help cut the muscle anymore than low reps.

As for the many previous posts...YES, cardio and dieting is the key.

Believe it or not, when I was 16 I lost 65 pounds in less than a year by majorly cutting down on carbs and fat and making sure I walked/jogged for at least 30 minutes a day. When I got home, I would lift light weights, push ups, and sit ups. I was 5'4 190lbs to (same height) 125 lbs almost a year later...yea, it was a pretty drastic change, but the thing was I was chizzled as fvck...

Actually, isolation exercises are just as effective in building muscle and maintaining muscle, but compound movements work more muscle parts, so that's why it's best to use compound movements...more bang for the buck.
Fair enough as it goes, but I'd maintain that most guys doing lots of isolation work are ignoring the true mass-builders (especially squats & deadlifts).

again though, there are a sh!t load of threads on how to get big and blaa blaa blaa.

Im already big, I look muscular BUT i want my body to be outlined. I dont wanna grow no more, nore get bigger. Ive done all that crap a while ago.

So far the most legit response ive gotten is by War. But still i thank everyone who gave their insight.

OK I think I miss-read it at first here is what I thought you guys were saying:

Keep lifting heavy and you will get cut if you adapt your diet.

What I realize (and maybe i got it right the first time, but that make no sense to me) is

If while bulking you got up to say 250 bench than just keep that weight for reps. Than adapt your diet to slim down.

BUT if that is what you guys are saying you eventually would have to do more reps 'cause you would get stronger and need to do more reps to reach failure.

SO it isn't higher reps with less weights it is just keep up with that weight until you can do high reps. !?

'cause if you kept lifting heavy like you did to bulk you would keep bulking!

Zero, I'm having a hard time understanding your english.. what do you mean by failure? Failure is irrelevant.

Your body adapts to lifting 400lbs by getting bigger. Keep lifting 400lbs and you'll stay the same size. Lift 500lbs and you'll get bigger. Lift 300lbs and you'll get smaller.

We want to keep lifting 400lbs while gently dieting and doing cardio to burn fat WITHOUT losing our strength.

Why is this a 3 page argument?

Warboss JUST summed it up in one line..one line, not three pages. Some of you guys are talking about gaining mass, the other half are talking about getting chiseled.

Gaining mass:
1. Weights - We're all on the same page here with progressive lifting.
2. Cardio - Low amount of cardio, enough to keep bf% in check.
3. Diet - Eat your beef & brocolli(high protien and carbs)

Getting "Chizzeled":
1. Weights - Keep lifting heavy, weight stays the same; you lift heavier, you gain muscle. Lift lighter? you lose muscle. Weight stays the same
2. Cardio - Cardio! do lots of it. Push yourself hard, and then some.
3. Diet - Again, eat your beef & brocolli! eat high protien but cut carbs like whitebread, pasta, pizza, beer.

There's alot of bullshi.t going around this thread. Alot of techniques only apply if you're 230+ and are into bodybuilding, or down under 8-9%bf. For your normal guy(warboss is NOT normal, fyi) who wants to get 'chizzeled', keep it simple.

tanx blue.

my problem was that i thought inorder to become chizzled ide have to change the way i lifted.

Again i have some pretty big muscles but they're just bulgy. They arent cut like the models you see.

But now i know inorder for that to happen i have to majorly cut down my body fat.

Ha. I read this on body building.com and pretty much got the other half of the answer i wanted.

Its states:
"7. What Exercises Are Good For Defining Muscle?

The treadmill is the only exercise I know of for defining muscle. The so-called definition exercises do not define muscle. You can only do a few things with muscle, you can:

* Build it
* Lose It
* Remove the body fat around it, making it "appear" more defined

You cannot:

* Shape a muscle
* Increase definition through a specific exercise
"

Yea I get it. Stick to the wieght and don't increase. I was reading it before like you constantly increased.

The only question now I have is should you do the same reps with that weight?

Hah, you KNOW you frequent the gym when...

My run is at 8pm through dark sketchy parks and along deserted paths, not on a treadmill staring at a television. :)

Sure the gym I go to has treadmills but nothing beats the wind-in-yer-face feel of a long run with car headlights blinding you along streets and scaring old ladies from behind as you run by silently. It passes the time far better than some CNN anchorman talking about people dying in Iraq on a television you have to crane your neck to see. :)

Whatever, cardio is cardio.

I wish you would've put money on that.

First off - Maruis: Tell me the motherf*cker isn't "chizzled". The reason most of them aren't, is because they don't need to be. The ones not in weight classes aren't concerned with being lean and "chizzled". They just lift. Now, if they got down to about 9, maybe even 8% bodyfat, they'll be much more "chizzled".

Second off - Being "chizzled" is basically getting a lot of muscle and little body fat. Simple. Pumping out 15 bicep curls, 15 bench press reps, 15 squats and such isn't going to get you the maximum amout of muscle, its basically endurance exercise. You aren't going to increase muscle definition by pumping out tons of reps. Build your muscles bigger, which increases the size difference between your muscles, so when your bodyfat gets low enough, the definition is "chizzled"

ANOTHER QUESTION

..like ive stated before ive reached the "biggness" ive wanted. Now im focusing on becoming chizzled.

So the only way you get big is if you add more weights right...(gym wise).

So if i stick with the weights im doing right now and not add on to them i wont get any bigger right? Thus if i add cardio and diet ill become chizzled?

I dont want my muscles getting any bigger.
