If guns are outlawed, then only outlaws will have guns. This makes things worse than before b/c it puts decent people in a needlessly weak position and gives incredible power to criminals. The ability to possess weapons is critical to maintaining a free society, because a disarmed society is easy pickings for an oppressive regieme. How exactly do you plan to overthrow any potential furture oppressive governements without weapons?
