I dont know what your form looks like but that really makes a difference so if you already have good form ignore this, if not use it... Stand in a three point stance (slightly bent over, ball at opposite side from shooting arm close to your hip, shooting side foot forward) and quickly move the ball to your shooting position and shoot. This also helps with your release time and VERY IMPORTANT - when you shoot make sure your fingers on your shooting hand are spread out as much as possible (almost like you are trying to grip the ball, but dont actually try to grip it). This is cool because when you get good you can feel if you threw up a nice shot or not, and when you are good, usually nice shots go in. Anyway what I mean is concentrate on the rim mostly, but pay a little attention to what fingers had pressure on the ball when you shot. You will feel what I mean when you try this... When you shoot every finger should have an even amount of pressure on the ball. usually people put too much pressure on their ring and small fingers. That is a bad form shot and will be less accurate than if you put pressure on all fingers evenly. Anyone who didnt know this, try it. And if you practice it, you can know almost every time when your shot will go in or not, and depending on which fingers had more shot pressure, determine where your rebound will be (side of hand with more pressure is usually = same side of rim the ball will hit). Also remember to keep elbow of shooting arm in as much as possible. That will enable your pressure from fingers to be even. Everyone try this it works...
really true! my bro told me this stuff after lunch and i then went to the playground alone to exercise. guess what? i had almost a 100%, even from the 3 point line! it was awesome! i then played 1-on-1 against a short guy that came by and i won 31-13, with no difficult (i made like 6-7 triples!)

it was splendiferous!

blah, don't just focus on shooting just coz you're short. Have fun, bust out some moves and do lay ups. Practice lay ups. I'm hella short, but i don't just put out just shooting. In fact my shooting isn't that great. I do lay ups and finger rolls most the time and over ppl much taller than me. Learn to control the ball during a lay up, learn to use your fingers blah blah blah. Shooting outside is boring if thats all you can do. Dribbling wise, just practice. I don't have any set practices. I just do it. I cross dribble back and fourth the court before a game. Unless you want to play like a professional, you need practice, otherwise you dont need to. You improve just by playing and shooting around. Your game picks up when you play better ppl.

learn the fundamentals before anything else... don't ever practice dribbling once you got the main concept from now on your method of practicing dribbling is by dribbling everyplace you go with a tennis ball and when I say every place I mean basically keep a tennis ball in the pocket while your driving in a car and dribble at malls, and never let go of that ball at ya house, anyways when you wanna DJ just keep it in ya pocket, if a girl finds out u have a tennis ball in ya pocket she'll be intrigued and u can start some great convo, i end up sayin i'll end up in the NBA 1 day

everytime you're with a basketball practice shooting and rebounds, if you want handles then do all those flashy moves with a tennios ball much harder... but rewarding...

Yea that shot practice technique I mentioned will improve just about anyones shot who doesnt already use it. But dribbling is most definately the second most important thing to learn and practice (shot is first because it produces, where as "dribbling around like a retard does nothing but produce turnovers or bad passes in pressure situations."). But dribbling everywhere you go is a little too 1980's odd. It puts a picture in my head of someone living in the 'ghetto' with no future and nothing but dreams to make the NBA (caugh, retard). Okay obviously that is what a llama with no life and all dreams (not a DJ) would do. Instead, replace everyday chores and instances with your opposite hand. This will help alot as you will notice a few weeks after you start. Also when playing bball, dribble with your opposite hand and even shoot sometimes... When you are practicing your shot also do this. Try to get your opposite hand shot to look just like your normal jump shot. It takes time, you will actually notice the difference in your ball handling skills from these techniques. One of the most important things I almost forgot to mention is WORK OUT and get some muscle in your arms, and if you want to improve your basketball skills all together, try to get an even amount of muscle and strength in BOTH arms, as this will most definately improve your dribbling skills...

Me again :)

I was just saying that you should be balling with this people instead of getting their autograph. Not like I've balled with any NBAers...yet. Maybe NBDL or Euros who knows lol.

Yaaa there are tons of techniques of every single part of the game...develop yourself first and then apply yourself. make your own workouts for the things you wanna be able to do. oh ya and balance, always have balance. balance your hands, yourself, your jumping, your shot...always be balanced so your in the best position to make a move or react. like me, i'll never let anyone catch me with a bad move/shot/box/trap/anything twice. cuz i'm balanced and have the memory of an elephant lol.

well anyway good to hear your progress jay
