Yeah, I'm still processing Tenet. I've watched this movie four times, the most recently was just this past month (bought this off youtube when it was digitally released - the first time I watched it was hooked enough to watch it from beginning to end rather than segment it out like I normally do). It has an soundtrack (ie Posterity/Plan-Travis Scott) that sort of sticks with you.

I've just recently placed in an order for a Blu-Ray to go over Tenet's special features. With me it's a masterpiece of cinema. I'm not sure that Nolan is the type of director to make sequels though. Maybe his movies (ie in Tenet movie, Oppenheimer was referenced in the dialogue, Dunkirk was another WW2 movie that hae had made earlier) may be interconnected in a wierd way like M. Night Shayamalan (ie Glass/Split/Unbreakable). But sequels is not his style. I don't think Jordan Peele has done sequels either.

I'm intending to borrow it from the library. However, no it's not a dead technology. VHS tapes are dead. Streaming services are more popular. However, for the cinephiles and videophiles who are looking for the best picture quality on their 2k,4k, 8k TVs or VR-headsets, then Blu-Ray is the way to go. You don't have any loading or streaming delays or bugs (ie sometimes if there is an internet bumb the quality will lower temporarily), and you can play actual HD/UHD movies on a VR head-set rather than scaled-down SD. (ie if you watch a movie on VR, it gives you the same quality as though you were playing it on your desktop. Many streaming services will cap a purchase/rental movie that's not part of their streaming service (ie youtube/amazon prime/netflix) to 480p/SD quality, even if its a gigantic screen. The only way to avoid getting a "resolution-rip-off" would be to use a Blu-Ray device that can play on the desktop and hook up to the VR-headset. Personally, I don't care. The SD (480p) resolution on VR-headset is still passable in terms of quality of the experience enough to enjoy the movie and feel a little wow of seeing a large screen. I might borrow a Blu-Ray if it's convenient to do so, or if I need the special features.

Hi Zecko,
" the firebombing of Tokyo was just as destructive and deadly, or more."Yes you are quite right, and there was also Bomber Commands deliberately created Fire Storm in Hamburg, this killed more civilians than died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.

Watched Oppenheimer last night. Good historical reminder the how of good intentions often times are used to inflict unimaginable harm. Oppenheimer was enthralled with exploring physics which later was leveraged to create the bomb to end world war II. Scary how government officials turned on him once he realized that he opened Pandora’s box and wanted to control the use of the technology they just created. Great power comes with great responsibility and this movie brings that message quite clearly. Wanted my boys to watch it since there are two National Labs in our area, both build by members of his team immediately after the first bombs we dropped and the Cold War with Russian began.

Two strong forces in his life were his mistress and his wife. These women made deep impacts in his life and exposed him to different points of view. They didn’t have to emasculate him nor were they hungry for power like the feminists of today.

The main character in Oppenheimer is the dude from Peaky Blinders. Not sure if I can mentally see him as a new character after watching that show so much haha

Oppenheimer was pretty good and it influenced me to create the manosphere topic on the main board. I want to see barbie, but I will probably wait till it's streamable because the fan boyism is annoying.

I know him from Red Eye, however allot of time has passed since then. Since seeing him as traumatized WW2 soldier in Dunkirk (2017), and in Quiet Place 2, I have seen other ranges. I've also noted that he has been on a special diet in order to play this role (ie much like Joaquin Phoenix did with Joker (2019), and he does look noticably different. I've never seen, or even watched the first 3 episodes on season One of Peaky Blinders, so that probably helps too. Perhaps I'll have a look at that show as it's another TV-show collecting dust on a streaming watch-list.
