Looks are ESSENTIAL in highschool of course, but later it´s charisma, personality, confidence, status etc.
Why are you assuming women grow out of the high school mentality? Most of them don't until they are old, unattractive and nobody is chasing them anymore. THEN they care more about the total package. Until then, it is 80% looks and 20% everything else.

Have your barber cut it with blade #2 or #3; it'll work wonders for you and make the spot on the back of your head less noticeable.

It's just hair; don't make a big fuzz about it. Oh, and by the way, I'm starting to lose my hair too! Own it, haha!

Keep being money,

I went bald in the same spot. I look at other guys who don't seem to know they are bald there and it looks like crap.

I've been shaving my head for 4 years. Girls don't say anything. I never noticed a difference in success rate.

I grew it back for 6 months and hated it again and am back to bald. One person actually told me I should shave it again because it makes me look like a bad ass, which may be questionable but whatever. I am 5'11, 210 lbs and lift weights, though.

Skinny and bald probably looks stupid I'd think, but if you're 180 that's probably not skinny unless you're really tall.

Oh, if you're going to do it spend the $30 or whatever and get balding clippers. Makes it easier than shaving perfectly clean with a razor all the time.

The input is all very welcome. I have a lot of replies...

SharinganUser, Zero, Yuppaz, Bradd80, RedZone, seethehoop, -- Thanks for the honest direct advice.

TillTheEndofTime -- 100% realist. Thanks.

AAAAgent --- Thoughtful reply. While I look decent in the front, unfortunately there is no way to tell how (MUCH) the top/back of my head is hurting my first impressions on women. I honestly don't KNOW how little or much the bad spot liability is destroying the spiky hair asset. I used to get away with it when the spot was smaller and I was talking to shorter girls in a club while standing. (The top of my head was not easily visible lol.) But being older and going to more "seated" venues like upscale bars, lounges, restaurants, makes the "rear view" and "side view" of my head show a lot of bald spot.

But generally speaking, spiky hair rocks. I encourage any young guys that can pull it off to spike that sh*t to the sky. Mohawk, faux hawk, or just spiking it so high that you need flashing red lights on top to clear airplanes is hot. It can attract females almost as much as height or muscles. I just think I've run out of mileage on this one and the plane is grounded.

Naughty Ninja -- Your advice is sort of what I was thinking. Buzz it first and see how it goes. Then I could possibly shave it clean if I need to. Thank you for the specifics.

Spang --- I thought about Rogaine, but it's probably too late. I'm with HockeyPlaya. The hair folicles are probably already dead. Thank you anyway.

Bigneil --- Thank you for the kind words. But unfortunately I do think it's something women notice and care about. It's just something they are silent about (when guys are around).

HockeyPlaya --- Very solid advice, thanks. If I could afford it, hair replacement would be on the table. I'm with you and Bradd on that one. But it's big money, so I really can't. You are correct about using drugs or chemicals. It's too late for that.

Serg --- Thank for the encouragement. I may soon be joining you. I just need to see the buzz first to get used to how it would look, then I'm open to shaving it clean.

Down Low --- Sorry but this was the least useful advice. Does "man up" mean shave it or just leave it alone?

JdelaSilviera --- Very good advice about my need to be more outgoing and expand my social circle. I also joined the No FAP challenge, not for hair loss, but for all the other benefits. But please believe me when I tell you that even women in their 40s care about looks. I know I worry about looks too much, but it's not too far from reality. Nevertheless, I appreciate the kind thoughtful reply.

J Roc --- Love it :). Great reply.

d!ckmojo --- Probably the most in-depth and thoughtful reply. Very much appreciated. Yes I am a big fan of J u d e Law. Him and A ssan ge are both good looking fellas. Buzzing it to see how it looks is my most likely course of action. It might well be fine like that. Facial stubble to match is not a problem. I also agree that health and fitness are a big part of this picture that I'm not looking at equally.

Robyn -- Thank you. The hairdresser was also thinking #2 buzz. I'm not gonna get too hung up on which number buzz. That is open to experimentation. But generally we are on the same page as Naughty Ninja.

mrRuckus -- Solid advice, thanks. Yeah I'm not a big guy by any means, but I have a decent weight such that I'm probably not super skinny. I'm just shy of 5'11" so I'm not super tall for 180#. In fact, if anything, I need to get more "lean" like d!ckmojo mentioned.

You are correct about some guys that don't know they are bald in the back. Honestly, I didn't know for a few years either. If it's just crown balding, you might ONLY see by accident when two mirrors are in some strange alignment, like in dressing room or a large restroom with mirrors on two rows of sinks. It's scary to first see it lol.

Yup, looks still matter at least in the start. Personality only comes through once you get them talking to you, but looks do make the initial approach easier.

I have a receding hairline and was in denial for years. Finally one day I ran into a dude who could have been my doppelganger: same long hair, similar glasses, just no beard and a bit younger. My thought was "Look at this guy, he looks like ****. He needs to just shave that off...oh hell, this is what people probably think when they see me!" The next day I grabbed a trimmer and took it all off, then shaved it down to the skin with my razor. While a lot of friends were initially in shock in the end everyone loved the new look.

Age gracefully. Don't try to disguise aging as a hypergamous chick does. Slowly change your attire, habits, and mannerisms to match the middle aged man you will soon be.

Rogaine, saw palmetto, biotin. I have more hair than I did 4 years ago. Problem is you build a tolerance to rogaine and have to use it twice, and I mean twice, a day. I don't think its regrowing anymore just retaining what I do have, which is BARELY enough to not be noticeable unless you look close.

Just shave the **** and grow a goatee. That + self confidence will get you more chicks that William Levy looks and no confidence.

Every guy related to me who looks good with his hair long always ends up losing it by his 30s. For some reason the only dudes who never go bald are the ones who've been wearing buzzcuts and such since they were teenagers. It's like we used up our lifetime hair quota early or something.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Shave the head.. then go into the mirror and point and say, "you're sexy and you know it." If you don't have confidence like a porn star at that point, then you should start mowing some lawns and shoveling snow to save up for the hair transplant.

Embrace it. Shave your hair off. The clean look is in anyway
Gotta keep the stubs on the face though.. I usually shave my face with a beard trimmer with a number 1 guard or so.. and then no guard around the stache area. I have the sandy brown type facial hair.. Works out well.
The rugged look is in even for clean shaved head or mop head.

I used to keep my hair longer but I shaved it this summer. I have like blondish brown hair.. So when I shaved it I did a number 4 on top and number 3 on the sides and like a one lower down. My hair looked darker everywhere. everyone said I look a lot younger too. So it does help. Although I liked it best when it grew out for a couple weeks.

When you guys are saying "shave it" are we talking about going bald? Or like a short buzz cut?

I have a pretty bad case of receding hairline, and lately have been trying to keep it short. I used a #1.5 with my hair trimming kit, and I couldn't really tell if it was too short, not short enough, etc.

Shaved means SHAVED. Down. To. The. Skin! Not some lazy buzz-cut.

A buzz-cut doesn't hide a bald spot or receding hairline, but a close shave does make it practically invisible. My hair grows fast so I shave it every morning in the shower, I only skip the shave if I'm really short on time or feeling lazy. That and my girl likes the feel of a few-days worth of fuzz so I treat her to it on occasion.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.
