While I'm not deaf - I find it difficult to hear people when there's a lot of background noise. Like loud music or loud chatter in the background.

Anyway the hearing isn't a problem in day to day life. It's night to night life that the problem is.

If we're not in a classy joint with slighly lower music I find talking - even with mates, almost impossible.

It kinda kills the social bit of heading out.

I still game chicks, and I still get numbers. Frequently though I can't even make out what she's saying to me - or only just a word or two.

I get round this by immediately switching to another opener - or using an answer that applies regardless fo what she says.

Still it really p*sses me off. Anyone got any ideas? I've hit coffee shops before which is always productive.

I thought about hitting churches - but they're not the kinda girls I'm into (mind you as a newbie quest it could be ON! ;) What do you guys think about 'it is more noble to give than to recieve?' rofl)

As for night haunts anyone know anywhere in Edinburgh where the music will be just a lil bit quiter?

:(

Those are classic symptoms of hearing loss (outer hair cells). See your doctor. You should be checked out by an audiologist. Oh, and ask your doctor to clean the wax out of your ears. Occasionally that can make a big difference.

I'm off to see an ENT specialist anyway as I need to get my nose cloterised - an old martial arts injury causes it to bleed a little in warm weather and was going to bring it up there.

Mind you I've kind of forgotten what a normal level of hearing is. Have you guys got problems hearing people in most clubs or is it just me?

(hell if I end up needing a hearing aid screw that I'm getting on fine without one)

would you really want to hear everything she says?

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

hehe. Like I said coolage it isn't really a problem most of the time. Change opener. Ignore it and move on.

However I do miss the kick a$s buzz I get from playing the game in an environment when I can hear them - cos then the ****y funny responses are just golden.

Guess it teaches us all one thing tho. closing is so easy that you frequently don't even need to listen to what she says.

Still it's annoying if you can't hold a decent conversation with your mates.

I feel your pain but I have the opposite problem as you........... nobody can hear me talk when in a noisy place. For some reason I can't project my voice. If I'm in a club I really have to be in a person's ear for them to hear me. It's OK if I'm talking to 1 girl but most times there is a group of people talking and I can't join in cause noone will hear me. I'm a bit introverted and this problem ain't helping me out. Sometimes I want to be more outgoing but I can't be cause of this.
