this horseracing stuff is interesting.

so is this all you do for a living. You said you set aside the rest of your money you made from selling your company and you havent touched it. Why wouldnt you invest it, instead of just having it sit there being eaten away by inflation?

Pretty much... I am one of the most pestimistc people you will ever meet when it comes to money... my mom kicked me out the house at 19, I can't afford to fail, ,so I always plan to have some type of cushion... I own 2 rental properties that I rent out, just in case I go flat broke and need some money to live off of.. brings in about $1800 a month.. but I have never had to use it.. I plan on using that money soon to buy another property.

Also I have a little, not a lot, just a little, money in the stock market for the dividand payments... I figure it's better than letting it sit in a bank... But that's a very, very little return (humm.. maybe I need to put more in there)

Other than that... Yeah, that's pretty much what I do day in and day out.. Over the next year, I will be getting in the other side of horse racing, which was always a dream of mine, but not for the money... I doubt I can make more than I can make actually betting races, but because i just love horses and horse racing.

To answer your question on sports handicapping... You will NOT bleieve this, but I honestly don't know how to read a spred line... However, I am sure I can learn and be a pretty good basketball handicapper... I know to much about the sport, but the return on investment isn't anywhere near as good as I get now, and again, horse racing, you are betting aginst other people... I assume when you win in other sports, you are taking money directly from the bookie, a setup I don't particuarly like.

I wanted to make sure I am 100% comfortable in what I do before I decided to do anything with that money.. now that I am there, and can go months without winning a race and still have a good bankroll, I will start investing the money... Probably buy more rental properties... I figure if I ever need the money, I can just sell the property
