Even on Amazon d o t com where you can see user ratings for certain books, its very difficult to judge whether a book is good or bad because people into self-help will go ahead and buy it, read it and if it gives them a handful of "aha" experiences, they will go ahead and give it a 5 star rating... I've seen some really **** books with like 4.5 stars. Hypnosis and anchoring are two things I am fascinated by though unfortunately it is hard to find out who are the current gurus that would fit best for what I want to do..... Which is to broaden my horizens with women.
The user rating on Amazon are just that; user ratings. Personally, I'd stick with the medical journals that cite specific studies or literature that is specific in nature.

I will agree with this, if there is legitimate studies performed in the United States that show something has merit and consistency, then that *specific* technique should be considered. In some part of Europe, I've been told by North American Researchers that studies on "alternative" treatments tend to be poorly performed.

I did some research on self-affirmations and I've found some positive studies @ 6, 12, and 24 months. We should put together a seperate post to discuss techniques that have been proven to have merit.
