Bummer. Somedays I just post a few but yeah I do look at this place as an ongoing dialog.

It's a shame that EVERYONE suffers for the lameness of just a few.

Doesn't loveshack have a program where you pay to become a premium member? I would pay for so suave.

Third edit--I don't see the quality of the board as any different when I started over a year ago. Some people who everyone thinks are trolls are still here though. I wonder what the post-count in response to them is.

Hopefully, we will cut down on one-liner replies and threads, and members will put more thought and value into their own work. It is through that method, that we hope the quality of the board will improve.

Some of you say "I am never here, but when I am I like to post a lot".

This change was not made for the number of posts, but for the QUALITY of each. Just because you rarely come around, that is irrelevant in terms of the quality of post you make when you are.

As I've said before, how about we test-drive this for a few weeks, and then we'll see if it needs addressing or not.

Again, this is not about the quantity of posts made by a member in a day, but rather the quality you put in to your work.

I'm fully in support of this. Sosuave has been crying out for someone to do something about the heap of junk that gets dumped here daily. I'm sick of seeing bloated threads over in the Mature Man in particular consisting of two or three member bickering back and forth. People shouldn't have to wade through a pool of crap to find a decent post.

I like the rule. It's not about "chastising" or inhibiting free speech but rather helps promote quality of discussion and promotes a cooling off period. If you hit the limit during a fascinating discussion, no worries, come back the next day and the thread will still exist, perhaps armed with something better to say.

Attention Admin: Your 10 post rule is FANTASTIC

no longer will readers of this forum, god forbid lurkers who truly need help, will need to put with a 25 page My Name Is Nobody thread full of crap, or a 15 page thread full of iqqi vs the world

finally advice can be taken, read, and either applied or ignored, instead of everyone wasting time

and guys, if you are complaining that 10 posts isn't enough to talk to your sosuave pals back and forth, you might consider some things before complaining about this:

1) no one wants to read what you say back and forth ON the actual forum
2) exchange numbers or IM's and talk on the phone or on IM, or are you not at the level of comfort yet?
3) maybe get some real life friends to discuss these issues, its pretty nerdy to think that people here are your friends

thumbs up to the admin for enforcing this rule

ANOTHER RULE I SUGGEST

ban every single person with 0 posts, those are either trolls or useless........you dont need to join this site to read everything here, and why join it if you will only be lurking and NEVER post - ban these pointless people

tis all

Too Many Women?

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

^^^Seconded. If you come up with a new question after someone answers your old one, perhaps you should be mulling it over instead of asking the community for advice constantly. There are no brownie points for asking questions, and you should learn to try and tackle problems by ourselves anyways. The people @ SoSuave cannot hold your hand through every experience.

Secondly, In the heat of a debate people are too concerned with trying to 'win' an internet argument instead of seeing the other side of the coin. I'm sure the majority of us, myself included, have been in a heated debate online only to log in the next day and see how unimportant it was. Think of the limit as a means to further contemplate viewpoints and gain perspective.

Thirdly, I agree with Quicksilver as well. Just because you went on hiatus and are coming back to post does not necessarily mean you are going to post quality or require to post it all on one day. If posting wasn't so urgent that you could skip a couple days, what is one more after 10 other posts?

And finally, I wouldn't mind a limit on thread creation per week as well. It's probably overkill but just in case it isn't... I wanna say 2-3 new thread a week but most would probably see that as too strict. A max of five sounds like a reasonable number imo.

P.S. Maxtro I HIGHLY doubt that limiting the post per day count to 10 will lead to a mass exodus from SoSuave. I doubt even the trolls will be extremely upset about the limit either

1. how long is this in effect?
2. can we roll over remaining post count tomorrow on what we don't use today?
(you know , like how work does sick days?)
3. could someone sticky a reminder to use the search button and how to do it properly at the top of each forum ?

I don't understand why everyone is so worried. I personally have maybe posted ten times a day two times.

It's not that big of a deal.

Agreed. This will put a cap on those who feel the need to contribute to everything. It will also help curb them from posting their overly-inflated egotistical diatribes that bring others down which is really a pathetic excuse for self-validation.

Is this the only web forum on the Internet that has this rule? It sounds like it came completely out of thin air. This is the only web site I have ever seen that consists entirely of user participation, then looks down on that act of participating. The irony of posting on the Internet about how you are too cool to post on the Internet is laughable. Other web forums, regardless of what they are about, do not look down upon people who use the forum a lot. On the R1 motorcycle forum, people aren't posting - "hey you loser, you post too much, you should be out riding."

So what if I want to sit in front of the computer a lot? That is what this ridiculous attitude of sosuave stems from - the idea that the more you are on a computer, then the bigger loser you must be. I think I have a life that a lot of people would envy; I have more pvssy than I know what to do with. Posting on sosuave or spending time on the Internet is not a bad thing. I can sit on myspace or dating sites and pull all the chicks I want and have done it plenty. Being on a computer does not make one a big fat loser with women. That is the inherent misconception upon which the post limit rule is based.
Only a lawyer could make such a convincing argument :p . I agree with you B-B. There are quality posters who ocassionally post more than 10 times per day, especially during a heated topic. This post rule count should only apply to bad posters if anyone. Like iqqi, who should be limited to 0 post per day :D .

I agree with everything else but what is the point of this? People who have 0 posts are completely harmless and you wouldn't even know they exist unless you look at the member list. How the heck can someone be a troll if they've never posted anything?

That's 3650 post per year, I only have like 260 in just under four years.
Nope, this rule won't affect me.

I agree with this point entirely ketostix.

I get the point of the guys who are saying we shouldn't start a thread about every little problem and we need more quality per post.

I can even agree with the argument that this site about getting out and being a DJ not sitting alone posting on the internet.

The other side of that coin is that all the wisdom of this site came from DJ's POSTING ON THE INTERNET.

Actually Pen said that it was all a personal plot against her to keep her from matching my post count. With such a limiter in place, the post count which I have achieved will probably never be matched :D

With that I'd like to thank the Mods, Allen and the academy for this award of achievement. I'd also like to thank all the Feminist, Socialist, Scientologist, Vegans and all forms of organized religion. Thanks also to both Peta and the Cattlemen Association. Thanks also to the Federal Government especially The Internal Revenue Service. Thanks to the chubby chicks with their muffin tops wearing flip-flops and bellie shirts in the malls with a particular mention to the native, Minnesota Nordic Snow Cows whose cow pies I regularly try to avoid. Thank you to all the RAFCs who are still using the line "Did you see the fight between two girls outside" when attempting to open women at a club, it still makes me chuckle inside. Thank you to all the guys who believe that their looks (or lack of) will always put them at a disadvantage and causes them not to approach women thus making it even easier for the rest of us confident guys. I'd also like to thank all the 30-somethings who's parents still take care of them at home, I really envy you guys. Ummmm.... Wow... Let's see, oh yeah; thanks to all the women who call me cheap because I won't spend a day's pay on you on our first date; keep it up, it's a great warning sign that you're more interested in what I would (or wouldn't) do for you as opposed to how I feel about you. Thanks to Doc Love for turning me on to the importance of qualifying women, you've literally saved me thousands of dollars. Ummmm... Oh yeah, I'd like to thank the Matrix for being a modern day windmill for so many to tilt after. Oh and finally, I'd like to thank the inventors of Jelly Belly jelly beans, you guys rock!

I like the concept of it being able to support "bursty" posters, folks who come on a few times a month and would suffer from the 10 post limit. Things like this are hard to predict, I suggest we live with it a few months and then see what if anything needs tweaked.

10 per day AVERAGE is a lot.
