Quick background: Met this chick at my wall climbing gym, she always climbs with her brother, I got her number, I'm going to go climb today and after that we're hitting it off somewhere else... Is it a good idea to casually ask her if she has a boyfriend?

e.g.: Just curious, do you only climb with your brother, or also with friends or with your boyfriend?

And yes I was serious, although the answer is what I assumed... I'm still new to the dating game, still learning the what and what not, still making a lot of mistakes, but I figured asking an easy question here would be a lot better than making a mistake that could backfire on me

My advice:
Always assume she is single and interested, unless she obviously isn't.

And I wouldn't ask if she has a boyfriend becaude if she wants you too know, then she'll tell you and what if she says "Yes, I do." then what are you going to do, chicken out?

Dont ask, besides even if she does have a boyfriend, if you play your cards right she'll cheat on him with you.
