I have to agree with Hyori Lee on one thing. Prejudice is a big part of it.
The stereotypical asian asexual nerd is so prevalent that its hard to break out of that mold. The asian guy has to be pretty white washed for him to go toe-to-toe with the typical white guy pulling white chicks.
However, this doesn't mean a loss of cultural identity. One of the senior members in my fraternity is this guy from Hong Kong. Wears abercrombie, dresses hella white, chugs beers like any football player, and still speaks fluent chinese. Pulls white chicks, almost exclusively in fact, like you wouldn't believe.
The solution is to disregard race altogether, because it just limits you. I'm black (uh oh, here comes the azn vs black flames, I'm sorry for opening pandora's box), and I think asian girls are really attractive. However, there's usually a big divide between asians and blacks in general, regardless of gender. At first, I always used the race issue to find a reason to not approach, or to be generally uncomfortable, but as I dealt with asian chicks more, I learned to treat them like any other woman. They really aren't any different.
That isn't to say prejudice isn't there. Most asian guys are still put into the "nerd Starcraft player" category, but I don't think its fair to say that asian guys are genetically predisposed to not be able to pull white chicks, especially since there are short and skinny hispanic guys who pull hot white chicks like mad, short and skinny black guys (yes, those exist) that pull hot white chicks like mad, etc. I will admit though, many of them are pretty white-washed.

It's about acknowledging that prejudice exists, and acting accordingly.
I'm the most "un-black" person you can think of. I listen to classical almost exclusively. Born in Europe, etc.
Most of the time, when I open a 3-set of Asian chicks, they start the cold-shouldering, but once I open my mouth, its all smooth-sailing from there. Sure, I could have turned around when I saw them being unreceptive because of race, but like Tubesteak said, it's a ****-test, and like all tests, you overcome it. We aren't asking you to climb the Great Wall of China, just to take the prejudice and not let it affect you.
You can't tell me there's more white vs. asian prejudice than asian vs. black prejudice. I still have asian friends whose moms hide the silverware when I go over to their house, and these are mothers that know I'm in university. I just serenade the old chinese lady with politeness and general pleasantness, and they generally stop being so anal.

Hahaha ya black bastard thats hilarious...I constantly have to defend my black mates here because of the of asian vs black prejudice. My uncle once said he would uppercut his own sister if she married a black dude...I was angry at him and told he is stupid and immature for saying that. He says that blacks are suppose to be abusive and uneducate. I know there is a lot of topics being discussed here, but this is the only advice I feel I can give.
Don't care about being 'white-washed' or whatever washed. Do whatever you want. Trying to fit a certain image is only going to limit you at the end. I choose certain clothing cause I feel it looks good, that is all. People speak of pride and such, but pride is really one of the things that is causing all of these problems. Just focus on who you want yourself to be. If people can't accept that, then keep going forward in your life and don't look back.
