I am so lost with an Asian girl in New York I don't know what to do.
I have been on two dates with this Japanese girl, she is in my class and is around 24, I'm a few years older. She's been in the US for a year.
I made a bet with her in class that if Japan lose at football then she will buy me lunch, if they win I buy her lunch. If it's a draw nothing happens. Japan won.
The first date we went to lunch together. Sat down together for an hour and flirted for a bit. Did small pieces of kino here and there. I paid for it in the end, I told her since I won I'm allowed to change the rules and therefore I'll pay for this one but she'll pay for drinks when we go out a couple of days later. She was happy with that.
Second date came, we went out for drinks in a bar, sat outside and talked and we had a lot of common interest. She told me she doesn't drink alcohol and hasn't done so for three years. Eventually it was getting cold and I told her let's go back to my place for a bit and see the view. She said no problem. In fact when we got to the apartment went to terrace floor and she said "wait aren't we going to your room?". So we just looked around for a second and headed to my room.
We sat and talked for a bit. She said she had to head back home as she lives an hour away and it was getting towards midnight. I teased her and said where's your sense of adventure and said for her to stay with me for a bit. She said she has to go back home. I said no problem I had a good night and feel we get along, then I went in for the kiss but she pulled back jumped off the chair and headed to the door. I walked to towards her and said 'wait a second' and touched her shoulder lightly, she got scared. We were outside my room now and she said this usual "I don't even know you" thing, "we only met a few times".
Feeling shocked as much as her, I insisted to walk her back to train station, she didn't want to speak to me and looked pissed. She said her heart was pacing and that "she wasn't that type of girl". I apologised, told her I'm not interested in any random girl, that we get along and that in fact it's not that unnormal to kiss on a second date.
I sent her a text to apologise later in the night, she didn't respond.
I spoke to an Asian friend and he told me that it's not uncommon for Asian (non westernised) girls to require 10-20 dates and serious commitment before sex and was shocked I tried to kiss on the second date. At the same time she is in my class, and I don't want to get some sort of reputation for this.I would say she is possible relationship material.
What the f*** do I do?
