As you think, so you become!

What power there is with thought - oh, how so misunderstood it is!

When you were young, you were told that "you can be anything you want to be." You would then ask if you could be an astronaut, and the adults would say you could. Now it seems reality has hit you - or is it really true? If you watch young children, you will find that it never occurs to them that their dreams will not come true, and they do not worry about the results.

There is this one thing almost all philosophers agree on. It is the premise that as you think, you shall become! It seems simple, and it seems stupid, but it's not. All our successes can be achieved by simple thought and visualization. It is the power that has been granted to all humans, and because it is granted to all of us, there are no exceptions.

I remember reading once that the mind cannot tell the difference between visualization and reality. What the mind sees it tries to produce in the outside world. I like to relate this to dreaming, because many times, you don't know that you are dreaming!

Think you are something! Think you are the best athlete in the world! When you are alone, see your success in your mind. Don't see the pursuit of it, see it as if you already have it. Your mind will execute! You can achieve any amount of success this way - in this house, or in the next; in this city, or in the next; in this country, or in the next; in this world, or in the next! Anything is possible with that genie up there we call MIND! Remember in Gladiator when Maximus would reach down to rub his hands in dirt? This was his form of visualization. The feeling of the dirt on his hands would put him in the most comfortable position, his home - a place where he knew he would preform best. In one of the first lines in the movie (when they were about to go into battle), Maximus said something like "I see myself at home, working in the farm; see yourself in which ever place you desire, and you shall end up." As you think, so you become!

You want to be the fastest runner in the world? As you think, so you become! (Notice how Michael Johnson looks before the race. The faces he makes, his body movements, etc. Can you imagine the millions of times he has rehearsed running down the track in his mind?

You want to become the next Bill Gates? As you think, so you become!

Keep thinking, it lets you remain free! (Free from the hardships of life, the trap of women and niceness)

Do this and you will succeed! But... what is success? People say success is becoming the best you can be, and that nothing succeeds like success. I always disagree with this; this quote sums it up for me:

"Success is piece of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming."

Ladies and gentlemen, success is not a position. Success is not an object. Success is piece of mind. So long as you know that you did your very best to succeed, you should not feel incomplete. This makes people think I'm crazy, as I tell them that a homeless man can be just as successful as a millionaire. If this homeless man did his very best, and knew he did his very best, then he is a success. Nothing else matters.

But have I reached a contradiction? I said that if you believe, you shall achieve. Then I said that you can still fail, but succeed. The point is to not worry about the results. They will come by themselves. So long you have the passion (as nothing is worse than a passionless human being), you will make it. Just know that everyone else wants you to fail, and there is always someone else with more passionate thoughts than you. It all comes down to choice. You can be a sheep, or you can be an individual - The choice is forever yours.

Think you are the Prize, and you shall become the Prize! Forget tricks and technique. It is time to be a Man, just flesh and blood. You cannot be a walking box of techniques. Continually think you are the Prize. Write affirmations. Write on a piece of paper the goal you want to achieve. Write "I am masculine" or something of the sort. Read it in the morning and at the end of the day. Keep reading it. You will eventually trick that genie we call MIND into believing it, and he will show it in the outside world! Your successes must be achieved in your mind first, then through the outside world. It is never, ever, the other way around!

Focus on yourself! Your thoughts are entirely for yourself, so everything you do in life should be for yourself. Forget the PUA days and the rule of focusing on the girl. Why in the world would you focus on a stupid girl? It's human Nature for girls to mess everything up! Why do a dinner date when you can do something exciting? That way, if you are with a dumb girl, you can focus on the task on hand (the FUN!!!) instead of letting her speak nonsense. Succeed by satisfying yourself, and your desires!

Life will get easier if you invest time in your passion. Women will come if you piece your life together. After all, women, unlike men, are incomplete alone. And if they don't come, you always have yourself. The woman is temporary, you are forever.

Nah I don't agree. Obivously positive thinking and all that is great but the facts are you cannot become everything you want to be. Proof of that is the idiots who go on american idol and fully belive they are the greatest thing ever and are just plain sh!T. I'm not saying give up on things I'm just saying sometimes you gotta be realistic and not become delusional about things. Things like this just seem as somewhat of a cop out to me to the reailitys of life. Like finding jesus when you're depressed or something. Someday you gotta grow up and accept that you might not just be a rock start or you might not just be a sports star or whatever. I do agree though that if you wanna be cool or something that you have to fully belive you are the sh!T but thats all basic confidence that you'll have to gain by doing things and not by just telling yourself ''Im great'' and fully beliveing it cause that simply doesnt happen. Also your mind can tell the difference between visualtion and reality. If yours can't then you're probaly psycotic. I do agree with thinking positive though because we all know how powerful negative thoughts can be over us and how they can stop us from doing stuff so why can't positive thinking have the same impact and start makeing us start to do things things.

I m with tony wong on this one
yeah visualising and all that other self-help stuff helps, but there's no way someone like me is ever going to run 400m as fast as Johnson, no matter how much I visualise it. the mind is powerful, but it also has limits.

There will always be someone better than you.

If you focus on other people, you'll always be chasing someone. And even if you catch them, there will always be someone behind waiting to catch YOU.

Why do you choose to judge your life by Michael Johnson's standards? What merit is there in judgement?

Set your standards high! Aim high! Do not accept mediocrity. Believe it or not, these American Idol singers do not have the passion, even if they claim to have it. The Great Thoughts make you get out there and train for your successes. These singers just woke up one day and said "I'm gonna be a singer!"

Some make it through. They end up being the "unimportant" stars. They end up rising, then soon falling. They become famous for falling so soon. They become mediocrities, never Shakespeares.

I cannot tell you how to live your life; only you can. If you choose to live your life in mediocrity, then by all means do it. Life is an experiment! It's true that I may be wrong, but there is no way I am wrong about myself.

Just do not betray your soul. Betraying your soul is true failure. You can not do your best if you don't follow your soul (your passion!).

The Don Juan only mystifies one person. He doesn't mystify other men, and God no - he doesn't mystify other women. The Don Juan mystifies himself.

Submitting to your fate is woman thinking. The ugly guy can transform himself. He creates his own fate. The woman can't go to the gym to bulk up, or improve her looks drastically. Plastic surgery costs the woman a lot of money, while success for us only costs thought and effort. Women are incomplete without man, so if she is ugly/fat/etc she will never truly be happy. I've yet to see a woman who can be alone.

All in all, if you tell yourself you will never run faster than Michael Johnson, then it will come true - because as you think, you shall become! (Our world of negativity encapsulates our minds.)

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

True. If you make up unrealistic dreams how would you expect that something like visualization to make things personally incongruent true? It's like thinking that a guy who had cancer and believing he could win a 2200 mile bike race, or even seven consecutive ones at that.

This is an exercise that can change who you ARE. Not what you've DONE, or what you OWN, but who you ARE at the very core of your being.

There are physical limits in anything. But I'm starting to realize that the level of proficiency with which you deal with life, your "cool" factor, your sense of self-comfort and your confidence, are completely decided by the image you choose to project for yourself.

And it's from that that opportunities start to present themselves. You're not going to become a millionaire or a rock star or an olympic gold medal winner overnight. But people's perceptions of you as a person are completely within your control, and changing that perception alone can be done just by changing your perception of YOURSELF. If your convictions within are strong enough, people outside of yourself will be forced to acknowledge them.

And when that happens, opportunities for all those OTHER things will open up.

Do you REALLY want to run a 100m dash faster than Michael Johnson? I doubt it. That's just a manifestation. What you REALLY want is to be physically capable and fit, and be acknowledged by others for your accomplishments. This is achievable for ANYONE...not just olympic athletes. Your manifestation of that idea may be different from other people's.

There's a lot to this...this particular poster sounds like he read some Napoleon Hill and came on here trying to sound like Pook. But perception is reality in more ways than most people believe.

Damn, "its easier to believe, than it is to think"

Nobody even says positive belief, or hope, or optimism any more. Its "positive thinking" now. People don't think when they use "positive intentions" its bull****.

This POST is 100% accurate. All that oppose this type of thinking will be failures at best.

You can only lead a horse to water, you can't make him drink.

YES you can become anything you want to be. Even the world's fastest runner. How does a 100 lb, 60 year old lady , lift up a car that is crushing her son????? How is that possible?

Alot of the guys on the site are pessimists and will have minimal results with success.

Nah I still don't agree. I aint being a pessimist ether. Im simply saying if you want to become the fastest runner in the world or a rockstar or whatever you're not going to be able to do it just off the thought you will do it. Theres a thing in life called talent. Some people are good at somethings and some people are not. Everybody has there own thing. Whatever you're trying to do and achive in life you have to fully belive that you can do it to achive it and give you're best but unfortunatly we don't live in disney land. Anyone here honestly belives that if they fully belive they can be become the fastest runner in the world just by beliveing it is an idiot. Simple as but once again this is another case that calls for some common sense. You have to belive you are a cool mofo to become a cool mofo and you have to fully belive you can become the fastest runner to become the fastest runner. Now in the case of be comeing a cool guy you CAN do that cause its up to you and what you do and the way you act but in terms of becomeing the fastest runner it aint soley up to you cause you need talent aswell as belief. You don't get talent by beliveing you have it. Another thread where common sense is completly missing and to say anyone who doesnt agree with this will be a failure at best is complete nonsense. Im a positive guy but I aint delsuional. Someday I grew up and realised I wasnt going to be able to play football for a liveing and accepted I wasnt talented enough to it. I thought you would have had an experience like that by now guru seeming your 32 yr's old.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

Case Study: The power of belief in multiple personality disorder. Dr.Schuler of Boston noted eye color changing, scars appearing and disappearing, and as well as type A diabetes showing positive and negative in coordination with the multiple personalities of the subjects.

You are young. But I know guys in their 60's that would disagree with me. This is not about age or experience. It is about belief.

I may not be genetically inclined to be the fastest runner in the world . What if I told you Arnold Schwarzenegger was least inclined genetically to be a bodybuilder at birth

He made history!

Does that mean I can sit with inaction and just believe? If you sat at home and didn't work out, would your muscles grow?

You need to act, but the conviction of your belief is who you will be.

Know that you have what you want, and you will have it, even though, it might show up in your life at that very moment. Believing is seeing and then seeing is believing. Always have fun.

I agree with squirells 100% and it's nice to see some positive motivation here.

There IS something called talent. And no one can put their finger on what that is exactly. American Idol was brought up. You know, Bob Dylan is considered one of the most important songwriters in history and his voice makes me want to slam my fingers in my car door. But something he does that most of the AI kids don't seem to have, is he is completely himself. He's not trying to sound like other people, or fit into a cookie-cutter mold, he's in touch with whatever his true nature is and there is no one else like him. He couldn't not do what he does. And that is why he is successful. He created his own path without fitting into someone else's. I can't stand him personally but he's a good example. He could probably care less about being an olympic competitor.

You have two choices, live as if anything is possible and watch the magic happen and live your days in joy, or by cynical and watch the world around you suck. There's room for both types. The people who are positive, believe in themselves, and refuse to believe that they cannot have the best will have happy successful lives, even if their dreams or goals take different directions then they previously thought, but they will find happiness which is all anyone wants anyway. And in a DJ context, they are not needy, and therefore will have women.

The people who are negative will get exactly the opposite, and they will be right. They will believe life sucks and that everyone is out to get you and that will be their experience. And they will be right. You get whatever state you project. And they will have lots of drama with chicks.

I've tried both mindsets. I prefer the former. There's something behind the scenes and if you're open to seeing it, you'll see it.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

Bob dylan is considered one of the greatest song writers in history and is succsseful because he wrote some of the greatest songs in history not just because he was different and was just ''being himself''. Also his voice is a matter of opinion so you can't try and use that as a fact cause I like it and if you wanna say his voice is crap you could just say alone his talent lied with song writeing which im sure is harder than holding a note. The main thing about this thread that needs to be sorted is if is this post going on about The Law Of Attraction stuff or just a post going on about you have to belive in yourself to achieve things cause the arguments would be very different to the both of those. Also to go back to reset and the music examples. Some of the greatest musicians of all time where filled with self doubt and never fully belived in themselfs even when they where rideing high and even more of them are very succesful and are completly fake and not true to themselfs so you're argument isnt right im afraid. I agree complety with anyone who says you gotta be positive about life to get positive things back and all that but thinking you can become the fastest man in the world or some sh!t just because you really belive you can is bull. Simple as.

LOL, looks like I picked a good example in Bob Dylan. Re-read my post. I don't really care for him, but lots of other people DO. That's what I meant by not being able to put your finger on talent, just because I don't like him doesn't mean zillions of other people don't worship the guy. So, me not liking him doesn't erase his talent in your eyes or the eyes of others. According to me, I would say he probably didn't write some of the greatest songs and that he's overrated. It wouldn't be me buying those records. Who's right?

The other musicians who had self doubt is true... but they still did whatever they had to do to get their music out. Somewhere inside them they believed they had to do it and that they were good at it. They may have had other hangups, but they produced. Other factors can come in and kill it, but they didn't sit around thinking "I'm not good enough, I'm just going to not try. It's really hard to be successful." In spite of their own wounded egos, they still listened to the part of them that was beyond that. That's why you can bring them up in the first place.

And there's always a place for the dispoasble music, if there wasn't people with no seeming talent, THEY wouldn't be successful at whatever it is they do. But maybe they are really talented at making disposable music?

This thread wasn't really about becoming the fastest man on earth. People go for the most extreme examples. Maybe your desire to become the fastest man on earth leads to something else that was even more perfect than the previous goal.

But in general, yeah, if you believe you can do something... you probably can. That passion and determination comes from the part of you that knows you have potential to go much further than you thought. Otherwise you wouldn't even be able to imagine it in the first place. When you desire something and want to take whatever it is further, it comes from a place deep inside that KNOWS there is further potential there.

But whatever works for you.

As you think, so shall you become, in your own f*cked up head. There are hobos that live in refridgerator boxes that think they are the greatest gift to mankind since bubblegum, but let me tell you.

If you think you are the greatest, thats nice, but let me see some evidence. If you can't pass my **** test, then you are a doushe like every other guy that thinks they are the greatest and can't prove it.

Quit trying to be the greatest, and start being you. I have a corncob for anyone who can't respect that.

On a side note, positive thinking is highly encouraged, but there is a very fine line between thinking positively and thinking you are be best thing since PB&J in the same jar.

You will NEVER have "evidence" that you are the greatest at something.

I can see what brings you to this site...you start out into something you're inexperienced with, and your "evidence" tells you that you suck at it, so you get frustrated...instead of sticking with the vision in your head of what you WANT to be and letting life teach you how it's done.

Most of us aren't that different. But the longer you hold on to your dependence on the OUTSIDE world to tell you how good a person you are, the longer you'll be waiting for someone to finally tell you that "you're OK".

There's ALWAYS someone out there who's better than you at ANYTHING, and there's ALWAYS someone out there who's gonna think you're a "douche". If you choose to accept that as "evidence of failure", then you're going to have a LONG life ahead of you.
