"Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States. In the last few decades, though, with advances in the prevention and management of coronary artery disease, the occurrence of heart attacks in older adults has been declining.

Alarmingly, the occurrence of heart attacks and other forms of heart disease among younger adults (ages 20 to 50) is increasing. The increase in cardiovascular problems in this group, in 2020 and 2021, was so great that it contributed to declines in life expectancy."

A silent killer, see it all the time, atrial fib, ventricular tachycardia, in 30-somethings, interestingly a lot of those are men in their 30's that are shredded.

Most likely some sort of steroid/pro hormone cause in the shredded dudes. Either too high of a dose, lack of proper supports or they have underlying health issues starting out with like enlarged hearts, etc that have never been diagnosed.

Good friend of mine just had a heart attack at 34. Thankfully he survived. He is not obese. Shvt is scary.

We know heart attacks are caused by a few things-

-undiagnosed genetic heart problems
-spontaneous blood clots
-coronary atherosclerosis

Most commonly MIs are caused by coronary atherosclerosis but that happens on a longer time frame than young adults. Unfortunately, the first symptom of heart disease is usually heart attack.

Heart disease in 30 something year old men is usually steroids and drug abuse. Or undiagnosed familial hypercholesterolemia.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

Is it possible that these sudden heart failures that are on the increase from what I can tell in the last few years, is due to the rise of the incel?

I mean is it possible, that too much jacking off daily & living a sexless life can cause stress and this then causes long temr health issues.

It's quite a shocker, especially since he was just 20 and probably fit, plus being from the Pacific Islands, you'd think he'd be more than used to dealing with the heat. It's a real reminder that sometimes, really unexpected health stuff can hit out of nowhere, even if you're young and in top shape.

It's pretty rare but young athletes can sometimes have these sudden heart issues, and it doesn't always matter how fit they are or if they're used to hot weather. Sometimes there are hidden heart conditions that no one knows about because they haven't shown any symptoms yet. And intense physical activity or extreme conditions can trigger a problem.

It just goes to show how crucial it is for athletes to get a thorough check-up, not just the standard physical but really getting the heart looked at too. Even though these tragic cases are rare, they're a big wake-up call to make sure everyone's doing everything they can to prevent them.

It's a tough reminder that we've always got to keep an eye on health and safety, no matter how young or fit someone might seem.

IMO, anyone engaged in a metabolically demanding pro sport should do a few stress echos a year; it IS the empirical tool to detect cardiac insufficiency.

It will give you an ejection fraction, tell you if any portion of the heart is enlarged, detect valve issues, and diagnose fibrillation or tachycardia. A 12 lead ekg is also essential as it can detect bundle branch issues and conductivity problems that would go undiagnosed otherwise.

Having an AFib episode previously and years and years of EKG data now and seeing a cardiologist every year since with a few stress echos thrown in for good measure has really given me peace of mind that my heart is in a pretty good place. No pun intended haha.

I also walk 12-20K steps a day 6x/week and spend the majority of my day at work standing up.

I really thought the article was going to say one of the top 3 causes was….loneliness, young men not being able to *connect* with women.

But it’s all “poor food, no exercise, lack of sleep.” Guess I was wrong.
