Are you concerned that a chick you pick up from Tinder could be lying about herself not being jailbait?

Actually no, Im much more concerned that she may be ugly or fat.

I found out that best practice is learn from girls and do not exchange numbers before the date, keep convos within tinder so you can disappear whenever you want.

The jail bait risk can be avoided with some tricks to find out her real age.

I don't understand why he was jailed? The girl said she was 19. The court seem to agree that he thought she was at least 16 (which is the age of consent in the UK)

This doesn't sound fair!

Omg. This guy is not a sex offender, he was lead to believe she was older. Now he has this horrible label for the rest of his life.

Damn. Scary stuff. How do you even confirm someone’s age online anyway?

What’s the take away message here? Beware of jailbait traps? This girl probably thought it was all funny and sharing with her friends, not realizing the consequences for this guy. She would not have the maturity to even comprehend it.

Wow.

I've matched and talked to more than one girl online who ended up admitting they were underage. I try to warn them off tinder and unmatch.

It is a bit of a worry because as I get older I can't tell the difference between a 16 year old and a 20 year old.

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.

Underage girls are a strict liability crime. That means if she is underage and you fvck her, there is no excuse in the world that gets you out of the charge. She lied, she had a fake id that was the best in the world, she was in college, her mom and dad asked you to fvck her and swore she was 19, she was the best prostitute in town....nothing matters. If you did it, you are guilty.

Interesting. I can imagine it being that way in the US, but are you certain that that's the way it is in the UK? Just curious. I'm pretty sure (but not certain) i've read of similar cases to this here where the guy wasn't prosecuted. (Siimlar to your example with the fake ID from memory. In a bar)

In fact, a friend (of a friend) who was about 27 slept with a 14 year old girl he met on a park bench about after a night of drinking about a year ago who he believed to be 16 (and she admitted telling him that to the police) and he certainly didn't go to jail! (although I don't know what, if any, punishment he DID get)

Another that springs to mind is a French professional footballer who also slept with, I think, a 14 year old and he was like 30 and he didn't get sent down, so I guess other factors must come into play, maybe moreso in Europe than the US

I dont know UK law, specifically. There is always prosecutorial discretion, which means that the decision to press charges is entirely in the hands of the state's prosecuting attorney. Even if you are guilty, they can choose not to go forward with charges. That's why they hire hard asses for that job with little sympathy for anyone. We are caught in a mania of locking up people, mostly men, for sex crimes. It is ridiculous to equate fvcking a slvtty 17 y/o with being a pedophile, but that is the sad state of affairs in much of the US right now.
