Are tomboyish girls really the ideal, or is being girly okay?

I'm sure that most of you have realized that nowadays, it's trendy for girls to be "tomboyish." Much of this behavior is derived from wanting acceptance from men, as evidenced by women who are chagrined by being treated like guys even if they request it. Sosilky, you know all about this and I'd love to hear your perspective.

I've had a lot of men fawn over me because I like computers and video games, don't drag them along shopping, or give them detailed play-by-plays of social situations that only my other female friends would care about. I've had AFC's tell me things like, "Wow, you're too cool to be a girl," or "Wow, you're not like other women." I used to be flattered that they saw me as the "perfect" (translation: fantasy that's all in their heads, as evidenced by later comments like "Oh, maybe you are like other girls" in a disappointed tone), until I realized that they basically saw me as a guy with a vagina rather than female with different needs than their guy friends. Basically, they saw me as "easy (not the slutty easy, the zero-maintenance kind that prompted them to do AFC stuff like fart in front of me after sex)." I need things like foreplay, cuddles, and emotional intimacy just like guys need BJs, guy time, and Monday Night football. I don't see the ideal man as a woman with a penis.

My question: how much do you Don Juans really want a woman who is basically a guy with a vagina? Are you okay with women who have feminine psychological characteristics, like needing foreplay, cuddles, emotional intimacy, and occasional shopping? I mean, women should not deny their feminine psychology and identity in general just becuase it attracts men. Are tomboyish women really the perfect women?

Also, when I say tomboyish, I'm talking about girls who are naturally tomboyish (ie the kind who was raised with 7 brothers and naturally doesn't have a girly bone in her body) as well as the fakes who want to seem "cool."

I like am attracted to girls who are girlie go figure, but I wouldn't want to live with a super girlie girl, if I were going to live with a girl I'd want someone who at least was willing to do white water rafting and such and that liked picking up women with me. Someone who just sits around watching the Hills and talking about relationships of her gossip group would put me to sleep.

PS I have been with women who only want sex and don't like to cuddle and find it annoying. Not a one of these women have been even remotely stable..go figure, I now consider it a warning sign of impending drama about to explode. Yet they still wanted to me hang out and be their friend when we weren't doing the nasty... weird.

I'm much the same so I know where you're coming from. I KNOW and love all sports, I fish (and bait my own hook), I drink pints and watch the game, I LOVE vids, and I HATE shopping. Now naturally, most guys here when they read "tomboy" and say "hell no" are thinking chics that wear hats and thsirts or plaid and no makeup. Not so. Guys who say they dig tomboys and don't like girly girls are often nerds who have bugger all options, like everywomanshero said. It's because the tomboys are perceived as low maintenance and easier to get (not to be confused with the slutty kind of "easy to get").

Personally, it depends on the tomboy-ness. Too much of it turns me off. I don't want to see my romantic interest turning into a guy friend.

well, i would like to elaborate it a little and guys, this is just my opinion.

well, guys like tomboyish girls who are horny (they somewhat can rock in one night stands). if they are not horny but still act tomboyish in the real sense of the term, its a major turn off. i, myself being a somewhat emotional creature or an AFC if u might call it, i like girls who are feminine.

a girl who likes playing tanks doesnt really is tomboyish and a girl who likes shopping isnt really girly... we guys like girls who are girly because that satisfies our masculine nature naturally, howsoever AFC we may be, and who can get along with us well. its not that we dont we dont like girls who would ask us to go shopping along with 'em but she should be ready for playing the xbox as well, thats needed for a good connection and relationship i think.

Very hot, has no guy friends and tons of female friends and a best female friend as well as parents that she loves who are still together and have not divorced and she loves videogames and pro wrestling (the Attitude era not the Cena garbage era) then please give me her phone number immediately.

Most of the time though tomboyish chicks are too good to be true.

Some guys on here already nailed it. It really depends on the guy. Personally, I don't really like tomboys or girly girls, but rather I really prefer a mix of both. complete tom boys are just too much like guys to be a serious love interest (obviously, there are probably exceptions to every rule, but I haven't met any yet,) and a lot of girly girls that meet are just too girly and usually shallow (again, with exceptions.)

Ideally, I like girls that are somewhat tomboys but also have a girly side. They're cool enough to be one of my friends, but everything I love about women is still present in them.
