Are stable relationships detrimental to man

I watching this video on risk takers and explained how men take more risks than women, but their risk taking ability decreases if they are in a stable relationship. I can kind of agree because if I didn't wake my ass up than I would be in a **** position if I dedicated my life to my gf. I know plenty of guys with lucrative degrees that refuse to work a real job/relocate to better pastures because of their gf or wife.

No this is absolutely true but its not related to anything they consciously or subconsciously do, its related to the way nature works.

When men get into LTR's, get married and have kids, nature causes their testosterone levels to drop and their estrogen levels to rise and they go from the wild, reckless stallion they were when they were single to a tamer, gentler version to help raise a family. Testosterone has been shown to clearly influence risk tasking, aggression and confidence in men as it's the prime reason men have that "alpha" feeling. Its testosterone related.

I'm sure some people will say that is BS, but that only means they have never went from a very low level of testosterone to TRT where their levels are high-normal, or used steroids before. These things can change your behavior so much that it can almost make you into a completely different person with a completely different mindset. I've done both and I can attest to that fact personally, as will anyone else who has had similar experiences.

Just my two cents- feel free to disregard, no disrespect intended.

I agree that the tendency for risk taking is reduced when you are in a LTR. But you can't let the woman control your life, or the relationship. You have to do what's best for yourself first and foremost, especially if you're talking about your career.

To me, there are too many practical advantages to an LTR to ignore. Sex and companionship on tap, no need to keep going out and replenishing the herd, time and energy to spend on more important things, etc.

Regarding the reduction of testosterone in LTRs, that is true (supposedly it helps you stay faithful). But it's often said that women tend to be attracted to taken men first, so how tragic can it be?

I've always thought women are attracted to taken men because the taken men are the most attractive. Just like the prettiest girls get snatched up first.
