To answer the OP question:

Yes, computer guys are considered low sexual market value.

But there should be an additional question asked:

Are they considered high value for being able to provide security and comfort (i.e. money, house, and car)?

I would say yes ONLY if it's top management guys in the computer field. Otherwise, no because majority of computer guys don't make 6 figures.

lives - some stories worse than everything I run into on this board.
Here is why - staring at a computer screen all day makes you unsocial and unless you actively do something to beef up your social life, you end up getting sucked into the matrix. It's a vicious cycle that feeds on itself - the more you code, the more you get stuck in the loop.

Ok most office jobs require a person to be on a computer most of the time, I"m not sure where you worked for the last 10 yrs...and as for the stereotype that was 10 yrs ok... me and 2 others guys in comp sci were dating the hottest girls in life science.....being in comp sci helped me out a lot since smart hot woman who only like to date guys who are smart as them...so its not the computer guys which is the issue its UR FIELD...since computer guys could mean 'tech support' < programmers < IT Managers etc ... and yes there are programmers who make 6 digits... a graduated i know 23 startin off at 80k

You're joking right? What is your definition of 'computer guy'? We have thousands of software developers and the ones in the USA make 6 figures unless they are entry level.

However, they go wet when guys say they are music DJs, play in a band, photographers, promoters, production designer at movie studios etc. - the jobs that women can do equally well.
I am deeply connected to my music scene and have a boatload of friends who are disk jockeys. The funny thing is we're mostly all geeks and gear nerds. A very many disk jockeys characteristically hold computer-related jobs and we salviate over equipment. When we buy a new mixer, MIDI control surface, or whatever, we lock ourselves into our bedrooms for weeks. IT departments tend to attract asocial geeks and disk jockeying tends to attract social geeks.

No, for the reason stated above. It's about predispositions.

That was the stupidest personal I've ever seen. This stupid bytch let her mother write it for her? The mother writes English like a 15y/o texting? The bytch has a frikin red dot on her forehead and doesn't want to date any dorks? I wouldn't worry myself. I do know that a lot of Indian men are skinny as hell. Indian women really like muscular men even more than the typical broad. That's what happens when you don't eat steak.

And let's not forget: there are women too who answer to the stereotype. Nerdy computer girls who appear more like men than women. Who let their hair grow too long and straight, so it starts to look more like straw than hair. Who hide their unfashionable glasses and their face behind that long hair as well. Girls who don't take care of their posture or body (too fat too often). Who wash infrequently and wear un-feminine clothes. Would a guy be attracted to her? Yeah, another computer guy who's like her maybe.
You mean hippie chicks. And yeah, most of the posters on this board sound like computer nerds. Explaining cool to a nerd leaves him as confused as a baby in a topless bar.

there are different types of computer guys. if you mean the 35 year old computer repair guy at best buy that stinks, can't dress and face looks like mars... no women do not consider that sexy.

if you are talking about the 35 year old software engineer that works at Sun Microsystems and brings in 110k a year, it's a different story.

I'm a computer guy by nature. my bread and butter is and always will be computers, it's how I made my mark in the world. I have a couple of aquentineces that are in "computers". one is 28, owns a web design company, makes about 200k a year and tags enough ass for me and him both.

comptuers are nothing more than a job, an occupation.

You might want to run a spell check over your quaint spelling of "acquaintances".

Oh, and that sentence should read , "..a couple of acquaintances WHO are in computers."

I was married to a cool English teacher way back when.

Back then English teachers were competent. Nowadays they aren't. The nutty one I dated recently (that I told you about in the other thread) is like an illiterate. Her spelling & grammar (she's Anglo Aussie, born here, so no excuse) are worse than my self-taught skills when I was 12 & living in a non-English speaking country.

backbreaker, that's true, but there's nothing sexy about the IT industry. It's not something that just oozes sexuality like, say, the movie or music industry. Yeah it's just a job, but it's not really one you can talk about and get women falling in your laps.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

first of all, I don't want a woman who likes me for what I do. she does not like you, she likes the perception of you. a woman who dates an actor more than likely doesn't like you, but likes the thought of being in the movie industry and is dating into it.

what is sexy is a man that loves his job. I've been on more than one date, and one I know because she told me in particular, was not going to give me any that night until we started talkinga bout what we liked to do and I started talkinga bout horse racing, and I was so passionate about it, she ch anged her mind completely.

Jophil I type about 75 words a mintue. I'm going to spell some things wrong from time to time. deal with it. Life will go on.
