Now he is on probation for 5 years, sex offender registry for 15, lost his job, has to move(even though he lives a block from the police station:crazy, cant own an Xbox/playstation/Wii and has to install software on his computer(Because they dont want him to have access to porn:crackup. I think that's silly.

Wish our society could find a way to assimilate people, instead of demonizing them. My perspective is that, statistically speaking, at least one or two people in this thread will have a child who will be convicted of a violent crime. Cant let these people roam the streets no doubt, but its troubling to think that 10-20% of the population are criminally incompatible with society.

Haha, being a pedophile and being gay are two different things. Well, technically not since they are both probably influenced either genetically or environmentally.

But being a convicted pedophile is a totally different thing. If someone were to come forward and say "I'm attracted to children, what should I do?", I see no reason to feel animosity towards them. Someone who has actually acted on these impulses and violated a child will not be popular with the public anytime soon.

If most of society had this opinion then there would be a lot less sexual crimes involving children. Rather than being terrified to "come out" to the public, they would receive the support and help of society to act appropriately. Being open about their tendencies would be positive for both them and society if this were possible.

I do think in a way strongly opposing or segregating certain groups of people only gives the leftist more fuel and in a way has a recoiling effect.

I call it "positive" discrimination.

The age of consent will not go down. There may become more leniency against partners who are close in age, such as not charging minors who sext with Felony Distribution of Child Pornography (even the person photographing themselves).
If anything the age of consent and age of majority will go up. The drinking age was raised, perhaps the driving age will be too.

Acceptance of sexually deviant doesnt require acceptance of their behavior, just the fact that they are inherently different. Like I said above if someone were to come out and say "I have this problem, I like children", I wouldnt turn them away or hold it against them. But someone who has been criminally indecent with a child will get no mercy from me, they committed a crime that ~99% of society agrees is morally deplorable, one which we must uphold to protect our society and children (aka like theft or murder)
