Do you go to GW? Man, it's easy to get a feel for the Korean culture being that there are several koreans in northern VA.

WRONG. Follow the scent of the Russian language. The Former Soviet Union packs more beauty than all other places combined. Kazakh and Kyrgyz girls have VERY "Oriental" features, are tall, and have enough Russian blood lines to make them the "hottest asian girls". Interesting enough, most are Muslims. You won't be able to teach them English though. Maybe go and learn Russian.

Oh yeah, MySpace is an Anglophile social networking site. It is not what non-English speaking parts of the world use.
whoa! those kazakh girls are HOT! Id love to go to Kazakhstan. Imagine how interesting of a person you'll become if you tell people you've actually been there and its totally different then what was depicted in the "BORAT" movie....imagine how amazed people will be....too bad i just totally dropped out of college today...dont you NEED a bachelors in most countries??

What, they stopped selling condoms? I wouldn't go in unprotected with any chick I wasn't married to, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd world. Though the odds of getting AIDS from straight sex are very low. And drugs are not my thing.

Free-spirited, really? I'd have thought (though I don't know, obviously) that it'd be more conservative.

AIDs is rampant in countries like Vietnam, Cambodia Thailand...ect. Condoms help out a lot but are far from full proof. I thought everyone knew this.

Anyways, the odds of catching something while having protected sex are still very low.

Dude, almost anywhere you go in SE Asia, the girl situation is going be a lot better and easier than in the states. I'm in supposedly the most rigid country over here..S Korea...and I have had a good bit of more success with women than I did in the States. It's just easier for me here.

For the most fun possible, I here that Bangkok, Thailand is the place to go. I am going there after my contract ends.

Anyone else here teach in China? (so far one person has mentioned it). For a while I'd been interested in teaching in Japan, but it sounds like a b1tch of a process just to land a job in the city you want, and the pay isn't as good as other countries. I seriously considered Taiwan for a short while until I looked up what the weather is like, and I f*cking hate hot and sticky weather. S.Korea just doesn't interest me as a country as much as the others.

yeah, except I doubt most people who do it solely do it for the money, and living/teaching in Japan is generally considered a much better experience than in Korea. I'd also disagree that koreans are considered "friendlier" to foreigners than japanese people are. Japanese people are generally renowned for being very polite and helpful and friendly.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

There are hot chicks everywhere. Japan, China, and Vietnam, don't pay that well. You'll just make enough to get by. Goto South Korea, you'll get a free place to stay and $2000-2500/month. Foods cheap, bars don't close and it's tradition, if you're a white guy at a bar, Koreans will buy you a drink.

I feel that Vietnam is a bit more 'uncharted' (not quite the word I'm looking for) than Japan or Korea. They only opened to Americans travelling there in 1994, and while lots of people jet off to Japan and Korea regularly, I only know one person who's ever been to Vietnam for any reason other than to kill people.

Could be exciting, no? Plus the population is really young and apparently they're undergoing a sexual revolution.

Hello From Saigon!

I've been here in Vietnam for amost 2 months already. I got 8 more days left. If you have a teaching certificate, your salary could get up to about 1500 a month for about 26 hrs in a month. If you are considering Vietnam, apply for the ILA school. After teaching there for a year, you can transfer to RMIT. RMIT is an international college. Vietnamese girls are super cute. A lot of them speaks english.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

My friend taught in Thailand and she said her living conditions were absolute shyt and her employers were terrible, although the job itself was nice. I'd be a little wary of teaching in SE Asia, myself.

Ive heard from a few people that if you teach in Asia, people look at you like you're Gods and Rockstars...any truth to that? If its true, that would feel awesome!
