Anyone want to Battle

I'd like to start a battle forum on my website.

The most interesting content on this forum for me is when 2 or more dj's heatedly disagree about techniques and theories.

The purpose of the battle forum on my website would be to introduce a topic of substantial significance, and let selected dj's battle it out for a limited time. At the end of the battle, a winner would be selected by registered voters, or a panel of qualified judges. Everyday, or week, a new dj would get a chance to battle the reining champion.

How long can you stay on top?

Battling dj's with actual skill and insight who aren't just regurgitating info they learned in a book or forum will be selected to do battle.

There are some interesting battles that happen in this forum, but the battles are often interrupted by AFC's chiming in with their confused incites.

I want to run uninterrupted battles where the audience can clearly follow each dj's line of reasoning.

I would eventually like to have prizes for the winner. This could be related books, dj equipment, and ultimately the annual winner of the dj super battle will get a free airline tickets to a dj heaven destination like Brazil.

What I want to know from this community is:

1. Are any of you interested in doing battle or being a judge or voter.

2. What other ideas do any of you have to make this concept better

3. Would you like to be involved in designing the battle zone (conceptually / or directly working with me and my team on the site

4. DO you have what it takes to put your dj skillz to the test

Flame Battles Thread

Sometimes people get into heated arguments on the forums, and things quickly become personal. Many times it is inevitable and happens regardless of how calmly the thread started out. This thread was created for the sole purpose of arguments, flaming, personal attacks, vulgar comments, and thrashing other members. If you do not like another board member, please be respectful to them on the other forums but say whatever you want to them here.

Flaming or personal attacks on the other forums will result in deletion or by members being banned. Thus, it's in your best interest to only do those types of things in this thread. If you read the post you would understand that I am trying to divert this type of activity from this forum.

If you haven't noticed there are battles here everyday. And a lot of these battles are degrading, or useless.

The purpose of the battle on my site would be focused on respectful, useful dialogs, in an effort get enlightened by people who are worth there salt in the field.

Good idea, but it already exists. You should check it out.

I dont want a battle zone for hostile dj's to chop each other down - This battle forum will be more like a tennis match.

Here is an idea - hit it over to you for a counter point - i respond back to that again with a valuable insight - not an insult

Or, maybe the supposed Master Don Juan's who prance around this forum answering the most ridiculous posts don't have what it takes to meet a real challenge.

It's easy to front like you know some **** when 95% of the people your showcasing for don't know ****.

I've introduced some threads worth attention that get little feedback. But someone having the same cliche' problem, "why wont she call me back?" or whatever, receives all this cliche advice.

What I want to know is "Is there anyone around here who can do more than regurgitate knowledge from the real dj's who used to post on this forum?

If there is, I am simply extending an invitation to step it up a bit and stop spending so much energy entertaining AFC"s who would be better served reading the Mystery Method than listening to all this noise.

I've only been around this post for a few days and what I've seen is pretty pathetic. 95% of the post here aren't worth posting. And the master dj's who answer these posts seem to be nothing more than AFC's in disguise, hiding behind their user name and posting status.

The reality is a real dj is too busy in the field to spend time in a playground like this. And if he were to help someone,or offer advice, he would only do so after confirming that the seeker of wisdom was a true disciple of the art.

As the ancient adage declares, "when the student is ready the master will appear."

The "master's" around here are a dime a dozen. Nuff said.

My advice for you Dongfu: "Don't cast your pearls before swine."

I like dongfu's posts, but as for the battle idea, i'm not that into it.
