how much do you weigh, you age and your hieght, whats your diet like and whats your lifting like ?

Without that I'm shooting blind mate.

Also bulking cutting guides are not meant for everyone, bulking is very easy but many many guys do it wrong and just get fat then they fail at cutting because of the mental and physical stress of cutting is intense.

173, 19, 5'9, 16%, pretty low (timed) carb currently at 3k cals. texas method-powerlifting oriented. i do not want to get overly fat.

Then why do you want to bulk with carbs? If you eat low carbs and are 16% bodyfat I doubt you'd be able to handle a higher carb bulk anyway (without getting fat).

Simply increase the amount of (low carb) food you eat now, throw in a dozen raw eggs a day, and maybe bump the workout carbs a bit. Make sure you eat enough on your carb day, and considering adding a second one if progress is slow. Increase your cardio to improve recovery and mop up excess calories. Monitor your waistline and if you are getting fat, adjust accordingly.

Post a journal too.

why does cardio help with recovery? i'll assume it is low intensity.

diet i was on was oats w/fruits in morning and pwo grape juice carbs- that's it. amounted to close to 150carbs lol. my fat intake was 50% of total calories and protein 30% and carbs about 20% (factoring fiber and veggies or whatever on fitday). sometimes i ate 3.5k, sometimes 4k, and once or twice got up to 4.5k and my weight barely budged this summer :p.
i did some research and it seemed as if i needed to get in 5k cals on this kind of diet to gain weight (stronglifts). that's why i assumed carbs are neededs

Diesel's guide (for bulking) is spot on. Those who give it a bad reputation obviously know very little about bodybuilding. Diesel’s guide’s pretty much a summary of all the bulking info you’ll find on T-Nation, bodybuilding.com, StrongLifts, etc (everywhere!).

Here’s the link to his guide…

And here’s the StrongLifts guide to builking (though it’s pretty much identical to Diesel’s)

We are not talking about body building, thats a sport and has its own way of doing things, these here are normal people that are looking for a way to get bigger muscles, most of them will go on a bulk cycle and mess up very very badly, also bulking up is the easy part its the cut that I doubt many here can do properly.

nothing wrong with a bulk/cut but it doesnt really teach you how your body responds to different foods a controlled diet with a little cardio teaches you that and in about 6 months or so you'll be putting on lean clean muscle with little fat.

PM warboss he knows this stuff like the back of his hand helped me out heaps a few years back :)
