Anyone had this curious sleep problem before?

Since about three weeks, I have the most ****ed up sleep. No problems getting tired in the evening or falling asleep. But I awake - seriously - up to ten times in a single night. I have no nightmares, don't have to piss and there are no sounds from outside that could wake me.
My subconcious somehow forces my body to wake up. Heart rate seems to be slightly accelerated and I am kind of nervous when it happens, but otherwise I feel good (if I don't think about how tired I will be the next day)
Sometimes I fall asleep again instantanious, sometimes it takes as long as an hour or two.
Sports did not help. Drinking alcohol in the evening seems to help, but this is no solution... I will see a doctor next week I guess.

How's your diet? Are you eating enough throughout the day? Have your meals or eating patterns changed much in the last few weeks?

Oatmeal, eggs, cheese, fish, pasta, dark bread, meat and nuts mainly. I had too little fruit and vegetables, and too much sugar over christmas (who doesn't)...
I'll switch over to my usual high vitamin/fat/protein & moderate carbs diet.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

That sounds more psychological than physiological. Maybe it's some form of panic attack or night terror.

Yeah, I'd also say its psychological, but don't know the exact reason as I feel quite good these days... maybe sleeping alone all the time plays a role -_-
Last night was strange again, the moment I layed down the heart started to race while I was total relaxed in the evening... However, after a while it calmed down and I fell asleep. Good news, I did not awake before 6 this morning! (Still 1 1/2 hours early, but a huge improvement over the last weeks). If I get rid of this strange nervousness, it should be O.K. again.

You take any medication or anything? Even cough syrup or something "harmless" could do it. Consider everything environmental. Even vitamins that you recently started.

Also, lookup Marfan's syndrome and see if it fits you. Phelps had racing heart and that was what they investigated for.

It sounds like stress or anxiety.

Cheers!

When I get sleep problems, it's because I didn't do enough physical activity during the day. If I do an hour walking in the morning, an intense workout in the early afternoon, and a session of high intensity cardio right afterwards, then come bedtime I'm exhausted and sleep like a baby.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Creatine

Have you recently started taking creatine? - I had this issue after taking this. Even after I stopped taking the stuff it took about 6 months to go completely back to normal although my sleep did start to get better quite quickly. There are a few posts and things on this if you have a look about
Pity, it's bloody good stuff
