Quite true. However, a war-related gender imbalance inevitably corrects itself within a generation. Also, the rest of Eastern Europe (i.e. outside of the USSR) did not suffer nearly the same level of male attrition during the war.

I Googled in,Did Russia Recover From WW2,and found some excellent responses on Quora....23 million in WW2 coming on the back of WW1 and a horrific Civil War makes for a Sad Country.
