If so.. What ya get? And by get, I don't mean puzzy. I mean deer, bears, moose, elk, grouse, etc

Heading out for some man time in the bush this weekend with my daughter to bag us a few deer in the area I love hunting every year. Since I'm in much better shape, chasing the mulies this year should be a crap ton easier. Those buggers love the steep hills and are a bich to get out and back to camp.

Tell me your hunting stories!

I got a 4x3 mule deer last season after tracking it for 4 days on foot. Weighed almost 300lbs and got close to 200lbs of meat off it. Yum

I live on the east coast so we don't have any mule deer. However, I do enjoy whitetail hunting. I have only been hunting once so far this year and just saw a small 2x2. I'm more of a meat hunter than a trophy hunter.

I'm looking forward to moving out west and hunting for mule deer one day. I took a trip out to Wyoming this summer and loved the scenery. I like the whole aspect of stalking a big deer and then taking a long shot with a precision rifle. It is a lot different from how we hunt here where most shots are sub 200 yards.

@Espi Yeah man it was a huge deer. Bigger than average by a lot. I am a meat hunter too. I take the first legal game animal I see regardless of size. I got a tag for a bear, white tail and a spike fork moose too just incase I see them

@DJ Bax. I have a hard time hunting white tails. They are so elusive. They don't have the same patterns as mule deer. I usually find them hunting for mulies and they catch me offguard ... And wave bye with their tails before I can get my gun on them. Man they are fast and donr bounce away like mulies either. They run.

I leave thursday... Fricken stoked. So is my daughter.

Good luck! Everytime I hunt bymyself without any sleep, I end up falling asleep in the stand.

I have no patience for stands. I need to move around.

I mostly hunt mulies and they love steep terrain so I go and get em on their turf.

Came back with no bacon this hunt. Seen a 4pt (or 8pt in usa measurements) and only had a 3 second chance to shoot it but opted not to cuz I would have put it right up its azz. Not to mention it was sooo far away from any road and too steep and bushy to get a quad to it. Didn't want to wound it so I let it go. Seen a moose while bush wackin with my daughter. It was a cow moose and not a spkier (can only shoot big bulls with a moose bull draw that's hard to win) and seen 2 white tail does that moved far too fast for a shot and about 10mule deer does that I was praying for horns to grow on them. No luck. Gunna try for a bear next week in a different spot.

Lost like 10lbs on the trip. Had a calorie counter on me one of the days hiking and burned over 6k in calories.
