Anybody have trouble with ignoring things until they become big problems?

I have issues with ignoring small problems or issues and letting them slowly develop into large problems or issues.

The issues are so trivial at first and I know I need to take care of them and just do whats needed but I ignore them out of some kind of fear I think and they fester and grow.

One example is college related, I had filled out my paper work for student loans which are guaranteed by the govt. They sent back a letter stating that they need more information about something and I just ignored it. This lead to me having to drop the semester and it was a disaster.. I knew it would lead to this but chose to ignore it anyway!

Another example, currently at work I knew I was doing something wrong relating to my job function which at first was no big deal. I should have just corrected it right away but just continue to hide it and now it has grown to be a big deal!

I was leasing a car and knew I had to fix something before I turned it in but chose to just ignore it until the very last day when I had no choice but to deal with it...

What the hell is wrong with me.?

LOL I am the same way. I had to declare my major for college by end of freshmen year. It is now almost the start of my 4th year and I have YET to do it. My college finally gave me an ultimatum. Either you declare a major or you can't sign up for classes LOL

so now I have to do it before summer ends....

And this whole process takes less than an hour....

I had to pick up my bike from a paid storage-shed. I left it on campus in the shed after freshmen year because I didn't have anywhere to store it while I go back home for the summer. I had to pick it up RIGHT after summer. I kept on giving them excuses. Then at the beg of my third year they gave me an ultimatum, either pick it up or we will sell it. even THAT didn't persuade me to pick it up. They sold it supposedly....LOL

Yeah, I can go on for days....

It's called procrastination. Things that are not of high subconscious priority to you do not get done until they're due or overdue, if at all. I'm great at procrastinating, too.
