Hackers got me the other day. Not sure how they did it. A few months ago they put 2 small charges on the account and my bank caught that and cancelled my number and sent me a new card. Last weekend, suddenly I have $1,000 of stuff charged to my new card down in FL. Restaurants, stores, and other stuff. Not sure if they were buying it online but it sure seemed like they had a physical card. Who knows?
My card wasn't stolen, so the number had to have been jacked by a card reader device somewhere. I haven't bought anything online that I would be worried about. I mean, it's possible I suppose. Crazy how they can come up with this stuff. Good thing is, with the credit card they are just chasing plastic, and the bank is refunding all my money.
What I wonder though, are the two situations linked? They both took place on different card numbers, without them ever stealing my actual card(s). Is it a coincidence? There's no other evidence that anyone has access to any other accounts.
