I'm a tall fella so I'm used to slouching over for things since most counters, sinks, mirrors, signs, desks, etc. are made for medium sized people. I've gotten lazy with my posture but recently I've been trying to make myself more aware of it.

Are there any tips that could be shared in maintaining a good posture?

If standing up straight was all there was too it, that would be great.

your problem is....

The problem you are having is that all your life you have been masturbating with only one hand.......change to the other one for a while and once you get the good posture masturbate with both of them figer locks and everything...good luck..

OpenMind, very good point. In fact since you said that, I've been conciously doing that.

Tiburon, I could just make it easy on myself and use your hands instead.

Do some back exercises - the strength will make you stand up straighter.

one technique

Fill your chest with air. It's hard to slouch with full lungs and it also helps you speak with your diaphram instead of your throat.

Work out your shoulders and back. Pull-downs and seated rows are great for strengthening those muscles. Once they get well-developed, it will be difficult to slouch.

Do back excercises, but don't neglect your lower back. Try to squeeze in some hyperextentions on the same day you do abs.

BODYBUILDING is your answer.

When you have big erector muscles, they naturally are in tone and make you stand up straight. It's a fact and it helped me very much.

basically if you develop your back, you're gonna be walking straight.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/anatomy.htm

Basically you need to emphasize your whole back. Middle back, shoulders are the ones that will give you the good posture, but while you're at it hit chest, legs and lower back too.

Cheers

They make some posture training device thingies that you can buy for about $10. They look sort of like bras but you wear them under a shirt and they keep your shoulders pulled back and your posture good. After a month or so you can toss it.
