I'm still in the process of getting over a breakup due to some circumstances that resurfaced a lot of cr*p this week and I can't seem to clear my mind when I lie down or want to goto sleep. Has anybody got any tips/pointers please?

Just want to stop her creeping back into my head really :)

Cheers

Time is the only answer there really buddy. Its hard, and it sucks, but your heads gonna go into that place.

Maybe try to focus on the bad things, realise that her **** stinks too and she really wasn't worth the time of day.

I'm there too.

1. Do new things, things that you didn't do together.
2. Spend time around people you have a good time with as much as possible.
3. As Purefilth said, focus on what you weren't happy with. There are always more women, women who won't have the faults that she did.

You have to surrender to sleep. By thinking "I want to go to sleep" or "I have to go to sleep" you are forcing it or even fighting it in sense.

Close your eyes and let your mind go. Don't try to think or not think. Just let go.

Make sure you are getting up early enough in the AM. Make sure you are working out during the day. Don't watch TV or use your computer in the hour before bed. Instead, read a book/magazine or whatever in low light. Your brain naturally releases melatonin when your retina starts to noticed lower light levels. TV/laptop prevents this.

Step 1. Create a top 10 list (or top 20) of fun things you wanna do that have nothing to do with sex.

Step 2. Do the things on your list!

And if you are having trouble sleeping at night, try filling up your stomach.
Sleep works in the same neural pathways that digestion does. It always helps me get to sleep.
