I can't wait. I hope Kimbo does good. I want to see Kimbo in the UFC. I doubt he'll ever be a contender for a belt, but he'd be good for a warm-up fight.

I knew they weren't going to risk Kimbo getting knocked out on the first episode!

Kimbo is A LOT different than I thought he was as a person and fighter.

I will be rooting for Kimbo. God help me.

Yeah, that dude's head was split wide open down to the bone. And that's taking a shot from a gloved padded fist. Can you imagine what his face would've looked like if it was a bare-knuckles street fight??? I shudder to think.

He kept getting caught with the same exact move. That was just pathetic.

Yeah I'm thinking that he hit his head up against the cage, because a fist wouldn't make a laceration like that IMO. Still that was one of the bloodiest fights that I have seen.

I know...I remember that saying that it was an elbow that did the damage though. Even though he sucked I gotta give him credit dude had alot of heart not giving up and going through the entire fight...he took that blow to his forehead early in the 1st round.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

I bet Kimbo is fighting tonite. I really want to see him do well. Like get to the finals and lose "a decision with heart." He seems (so far) like a hardworker and humble guy despite his exterior. I don't want to see him WIN after only a couple years training, just do well to shut certain bald and slightly more pudgy Presidents of the UFC up.

That said, I would love it just as much if not more if every other fighter on Rampage's team goes down. Hate that guy. Always rooted for him to go down and some of the Chute Boxe thrashings in Pride were satisfying. He just retired if anyone didn't know.

I didn't know Rampage retired. I would like to see an Anderson Silva vs. Rampage fight.

Yup. Pulled out of a fight that the UFC is spending millions promoting. Apparently Dana White (who I am no fan of) was kinda mean to Rampage about his acting dreams. This from a fighter who is almost as famous for teasing people as he is for slamming people. And slamming into other cars...

Rampage is a great fighter, one of the best. But he is also a d!ck.

I wish him well if he wants to become an actor, but if his acting career flops like Roger Huerta he'll be back in the ring.

Man, what a disappointment! I hate to have to admit it as much as I wanted Kimbo to do good, but damn, he sucks.

edit-

Actually nevermind. I'm pretty sure that fight was staged for the drama. It's looking like they're going to bring Kimbo back to fight again next week in place of some guy that falls "ill". That submission was way too easy to get out of. I'm betting that they let him lose the first one just to add in some drama.

Kimbo keeps talking about all the training he does, but his ground game is horrible. He does not even have the jiu-jitsu of someone who has been training for 3-6 months. My bjj class trains a lot of positions, the idea behind them is "when you fight someone ignorant, this is what they're going to do." Kimbo does all of those things! He still looks like he has never trained at all. The mount escape they were teaching him is how we train arm bars from mount, having the guy push up at you, extending his arms. The other thing Rampage was having him do when he got taken down was just squeeze the other guy and hold onto him. That's another bad idea, and anyone who has trained much, like the guy he fought, knows exactly what to do, which is press on hs face until he lets go.

I know eight and ten year old kids who could teach Kimbo a lot about jiu-jitsu, basic ideas like a mount escape that apparently no one on team Rampage seems to understand.

Rampage is a terrible coach. I can't believe he brought that joke Tiki as one of his assistant coaches.

Dana White already confirmed that win or lose, Kimbo is going to be let into the UFC.

Dana White is going to make some money off Kimbo. Mark my words.
Totally saw that coming. I knew that no matter how unbalanced Kimbo proved to be as an MMA fighter, Dana White will not let that big bearded cash cow slip out of his fingers.

I used to have respect for Dana and how he handled the organization, but I think he is completely given to greed now. The fact that he let Kimbo on the show to try and "prove" he could hang in the big leagues was cool, but everyone knows that win or lose he is going to milk the Kimbo notoriety for all it's worth.

I mean the guy has some natural ability, no doubt, but he is completely BEREFT of a ground game. I have 6 months of jiu jitsu and I can see that. You put they guy on his back and he's like a helpless turtle. Good hands and boxing movement but any fight against him can be won simply by dumping him on his back.

I actually like Kimbo--he is humble and surprisingly funny. I just don't think he has the tools yet to fight at this level of MMA.

I also thought the stoppage against Roy Nelson was lame---Kimbo wasn't in danger, he just wasn't DOING anything. Herb Dean gave him plenty of chances though.
