any non-bad convos should one be # closing?

I can hold convos with women, but I am ejecting at the point of asking for a number.
When the convo is good , either I eject because I sense there isn't an overwhelming interest on her part, and when there is
or I feel they are not attractive enough and I don't want anything to do with them. Hence , I've talked to a lot of women, but only have gotten 1 email. When the convo is bad or too short , obvviously didn't sync, and I eject anyway. Sometimes I have these fluff short convos ( how was your shopping ? do you like this shop etc? ) just hell maybe I don't pursue her enough, not enough interest partly because of too short don't really ask for a number of these short ones , maybe I should.
Its rare when I find a girl attractive, and/or a girl finds me attractive at the same time. I guess I am just not asking because
I don't think its perfect enough.

Should one always be number closing irregardless just for the hell of it ?
How can I get to the next step ?

What next step? Asking? Um... open your mouth? And forget "perfect" approaches, they don't exist. The average guy will approach what, 10 girls in his entire life? No one expects you to be Casanova.

Convos

He transitions from topic to topic. I've started doing this conciously recently and it is working for me. I resynced with a girl who had been loosing interest in me (do to my lack of pursuit, I believe) after a single conversation like this. It's quality stuff.

Picking a word at random from the dictionary and telling a story about it is an exercise that will develop the skills needed to do this if you have trouble. I tape these and play them later for review. I then redo the exercise with the same word to include improvements, so I get used to speaking smoothly. EVen better take a job that required you talk to many people per day. After about a month, this made a HUGE difference for me. The timing and things to say just eventually come naturally and that will do more for your game than anyone on the Internet can do to help you in truth.

I would also like to recommend you have a few more minutes of conversation after obtaining the #, and you should have at least several minutes of quality convo before attempting to get a number. I've found that numbers work best for me when I've spend at least 15 minutes in quality conversation.
