Yeah, I thought FFVII was the pinnacle. Though it was the first to not feature conceptual art and character design by the legendary Yo****aka Amano, I liked some of the side stories. FFVIII on the other hand, you don't really get a feel for what you're supposed to be doing. And while it did have the usual music by Nobuo Umetsu, the score for VIII just doesn't come close to VI or VII.

I'm hazarding a guess that your daughter might have been just as annoyed as I was with FFVIIIs abyssmal magic junctioning (or whatever it was called) system as their own take on that trainable pocket monsters trend.

Mods: What's the deal with the language filter in this case? Some of you might be familiar with this name. That's how it's spelled.
Well, my daughter is an artist and she has done tons of fanart for all FF's except VIII...so you can take that to mean whatever you'd like to. :D

Gee, I can do all of that in real life (except riding a chicken, which I'm not sure I want to do...)

I dislike those stupid games where you can "do things that you normally do in real life". Own a house! Wow! Walk along the street and chat up a chick! Wow! Like I can't do that anyway!

For a better game, try Planescape: Torment.
Seeing as I AM a chick and I'm strictly d*ckly..."chatting up chicks" really isn't my cup of tea...but I like that video game. :D

Did you have all those Chinese gil farmers on your server? I talked to one who spoke English and they told me they all sit in a building and their job is to make game money to sell online. It's like a gaming sweatshop or something.

Once films were seen as dumb entertainment and now they are "works of art," well in 50 or 100 years when some video games are seen as art this will be one of the early games they look back to and say "this is where it all started."
Too true. I'm really fond of Baldur's Gate 2 myself, it's a work of art too, in my opinion the best game evar, haven't played PS:T yet, but I intend to. Anyway, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is smashing too, you can be as evil as you want to be.

Oh and by the way, the posts along the lines of "Haha, you nerds have no life, you play videogames, that's for kids haha, man you're totally out of the DJ stereotype, anyway, I'm going back to the mirror to resume admiring my pecs and my beautiful face" are funny, hehe.

Back when I was more of an avid gamer, I noticed that some of the RPGs that had the FF format were more interesting than some of the FF entries, which got to be repetetive with the same feel and style. Anyone remember Chronotrigger, Shining Force III, Shining the Holy Ark, Xenogears, and Lunar: Silver Star Story? Same format but totally different styles, that was the key.

I'm not much of an online gamer. My favorite games (though playable online) don't generate the big following that Unreal, Warcraft and FFXXI do.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

My daughter liked ChronoTrigger. She's done some art on that one, too.
