You shouldn't make fun of him...it's a cool game. The graphics and music are just great. You can fish, mine, dig clams, ride on a big a$$ yellow chicken (chocobo) and make a fortune using the game auction house. I especially like the way you can use the auto translator to talk to Japanese players and the fact that there are people all over the world playing at the same time you are. I've never liked video games before, either...so it's gotta be really good to interest not only teenagers and young 20-somethings but also the parents and even my 4 year old loves it.Originally posted by Jimbo2k
My buddy plays it and I just make fun of him for it.
Hope this helps!
I'm not usually into video games, and if it's a "war" type of game rather than more of a "fantasy" type game I doubt I'd like it. FFXI is addicting, too.Originally posted by Phantasmal
I never did try Final Fantasy XI, but if you want a great online RPG, World of Warcraft is the ****. It's more addicting than heroin.
My daughter loved FFVII and hated FFVIII. She says that one is horrible. IX is "okay", X is good, X-2 is kinda "Charlies Angelish", but cool and XI is, in my opinion, the best. They have all these special events and extra things to do besides just kill stuff...and it's entirely interactive with other players all over the world. Great game.Originally posted by Yotsuya-san
Good Lord! I gave up during Final Fantasy VIII.
Well, there's two warring factions, but the game's not really consumed by that. I haven't even seen a member of the opposing faction yet. It's very much a fantasy type game, of the same type as Final Fantasy XI.Originally posted by Wyldfire

My daughter is a 60 whm, 35ish smn and she has all other jobs levelled a little. I'm a 42 mnk, 23 war, 20 rng, 18 thf and I have nin, sam and smn to around level 10. I got my Ochiudo (sp?) Kote that cost me half a million game dollars. I first began playing because I liked watching my kids play and got frustrated with my daughter for being so bad at making gil. So I basically made myself a working mule for her. Then once she saw all the game money I made mining she started doing that and finally could support herself. So then I actually started levelling up a little bit.Originally posted by Dayr0n
i used to play it like 4 months ago i played for like 5 months i was a thief lvl55/nin very rich
Well, you really do need to be able to limit how much time you play if you're going to play them and not let them take over your life. If I find that I'm playing too much I won't play for a week or two and that helps keep it from getting too addicting. I did play too much for about a month, but then I stopped for awhile and now I play maybe 6 hours a week, if that much.Originally posted by Silquee Smoove
I used to play, but stopped somewhere around the age of 20. RPG's take up too much time.
If you want a good kill 'em up game go for ManHunt.
Were you someone who got hooked on the games and couldn't put them down? If someone is like that, then they shouldn't play...but if they can limit themselves there's no reason why they can't play video games AND have a life. Moderation is the key...Originally posted by Vincent
I used to play games like that.
Then I got a life.
Don't always be the one putting yourself out for her. Don't always be the one putting all the effort and work into the relationship. Let her, and expect her, to treat you as well as you treat her, and to improve the quality of your life.

Yeah, I thought FFVII was the pinnacle. Though it was the first to not feature conceptual art and character design by the legendary Yo****aka Amano, I liked some of the side stories. FFVIII on the other hand, you don't really get a feel for what you're supposed to be doing. And while it did have the usual music by Nobuo Umetsu, the score for VIII just doesn't come close to VI or VII.Originally posted by Wyldfire

That was me, but I've learned to limit myself, and its just not fun anymore so I don't play many video gamesOriginally posted by Wyldfire

Gee, I can do all of that in real life (except riding a chicken, which I'm not sure I want to do...)Originally posted by Wyldfire

What server were you on?
Oh you mean the best RPG EVER MADE? Actually no, it's not an RPG... it's a work of art.For a better game, try Planescape: Torment.
Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.
