I've been trying to think of something as a new hobby that will open up my social life and make more friends and can't think of any. Unless you count going to the gym (which I honestly can't stand, just do it to stay in shape), I have no other hobbies whatsoever. I just can't seem to find one. I mean I love music...so obviously the thing to do with music as a hobby is to learn an instrument. But I just have no interest in learning how to play one. I enjoy singing, but I'm a really big introvert and would be so shy and uncomfortable joining a band as the vocals. So other than that, what else could you use with music as a hobby to meet people and make friends? Really nothing.

Are chicks really turned off by this? I mean everything book I've read tells you to find something you're passionate about and get a hobby. What if you can't?

Then u got bigger problems than girls my friends. Think of all the the things u want to do and do them. U will have obstacles like ur singing that ur shy, so don't give up ur hobby just because of that, get over ur shyness and b a rockstar or whatever u want to be. U can try DJing, dancing loads of stuff with music where u will meet people has well. U could travel thats a hobby. Play a sport, go swimming just make sure not to wrap these hobbies around just for the chicks man. They are urs, do them for urself and if chicks just happened to b there kool. I wud never do something i don't enjoy to meet chicks, actually get a hobby because u want to learn that thing don't force urself. For example I wudn't mind learning to cook good and i am sure theres loads of chicks in cooking classes, so that would b the best of both worlds if u know what i mean. Like if ur interested in yoga which stretches and benefits u after gym u will meet tons of chicks in there.

You do have problems. The whole point of the music industry is that you are on stage and everyone is giving you their attention while you are singing/playing/dancing, etc. Music is supposed to be shared, not held inside. If I were you , I would just decide not to be shy anymore and do what you wanted to.

You can do a lot of things in the music industry besides being on stage. For example, booking and promoting few shows for a few bands at a few venues, can get you into a social circle, and meeting people, and such. As long as you do it as a hobby, and arent trying to make money at it, cuz there isnt any, unless a bar hires you to do there booking and promoting, but you would have to prove yourself for free first anyway. Theres also management. Bands need people to take care of business for them. This also gets you the status of the music industry as well. You can learn how to run sound, or be a stagehand (this actually does make money) and hang out with bands and groupies all night. Hell, you can go around filming bands play. It gets you all the free shows you want, and connections.

All of the above things can be done at a very small time level as a hobby, or be taken more seriously if you wish. Either way, its a ticket into social status, and free shows.

Most people aren't brave enough to get up in front of a crowd and sing or rap. Try being brave for once in your life eh? Might change everything.

What kind of sports/outdoor activity do you like?
None? Maybe you haven't been exposed to the right stuff. Watch broadcasts of different sports and you may get to like something.

Then go practice.
