As a rule, I don't give out my pic. There's only one person on this site that has seen what I look like, and that one person is a girl.

As for getting approached, it happens sometimes -- but it's not something that I count on. The first real girlfriend I ever had (when I was about 16) had to practically hurl herself at me naked before I got the clue, also, so sometimes I am approached and don't realize it's more than just a little friendly conversation. Other times, I get approached, but the girls approaching me are 400 lb. hairy hunchbacks with bad teeth. Those times make you thankful for all the times you don't get approached at all.

But basically, getting approached is all nice and good but you have to almost look at that like it's some bizarre fluke. Don't depend on girls approaching you. If you want something to happen, make it happen.

If I want to get a woman to like me, I cannot depend on my dashing good looks. Some guys have that luxury. We don't. So I get out the other weapons. I dazzle her with my wit and intelligence. If that doesn't work, I make her laugh so hard she cries. If that doesn't work, I impress her with my interests and my talents. If that doesn't work, I kick up up the charm. If that doesn't work, that's why God invented rufies. (I kid!)

Does it work all the time? Nope. Some girls won't like a guy who is only a "6" looks-wise, even if he IS witty, intelligent, funny, interesting, talented, and charming. Many of these girls just aren't attracted, just like I'm not attracted to the 400-lb. hunchbacked sasquatch. So I can understand. Some of the others are just shallow b*tches who are doing me a favor.

But when you find a girl that you're attracted to who is interested in you for your wit, intelligence, humor, interests, talents, and charm, then you've got something that will last long after physical appearances have faded. And chances are, if she likes all those things, she'll think you're hot too, whether you are or not.

When I posted my pic, I got lots of contructive advice on how to improve my look. Stuff I was unaware of.

I did some pretty interesting experiments with different pictures in different test markets using Match.com. Now, while I can't rule out that different areas have different levels of "friendliness" I did come up with some pretty interesting conclusions.

First off, I'm about an 7.5-8.5 in the looks department according to Hotornot.com. That was a bummer, don't we always think we're better looking than others rate us. I had a standard bell curve. Funny how many 1's I did get. Like others have said, there are probably some moron guys that hit 1 for everything. Then I found a picture that was a 9.8 from a while ago. And reposted it. It still ranked a 9.9, but there were at least 10-20 people that rated it a 1 or 2.

So, you have a solid 8 picture, and then you have a 9.8 picture. Exact same ad, exact same approach email. Email 100 hot chicks in a target market, what are you responses, and how many blind responses do you get(ie girls that email you/im you from out of the blue).

With the 8 picture, I get a response in about 15-20% of the girls I email. A wink pretty much every day, and an odd email or two.

With the 9.8 picture, I get a response of about 1 in 3(33%). 4-10 winks a day. And 1-2 blind emails a day.

So, does a good picture make a difference. Sure it does, it about doubles your response ratio. BUT!!! Even though one picture ranks better than 99% of all other pictures on HotorNot, I have a profile that kicks ass, and an opening email that time and time again is described as the best email they have ever gotten. I'm still only getting 1 in every 3 girls to respond back, and I realistically only double my response rate. So, for those of you who were expecting every chick you email, to hit you back. Just isn't going to happen, not even if you are among the blessed few.

Just a numbers game. A good picture will double your response, but isn't an automated in. This is just an examination of the online game, and as close to an objective study as I can think of.

My hotornot rating flactuates 8.6-9...and I look much better in real life..at leat that's what other people told me.
Now...it's been a mystery for me and everyone else here too..but I never get approached!...Not even by ugly girls! I do all the approaching and actually have a decent game in my opinion,but most girls are not attracted to me for some reason....I am going through dozens of introductions and hits a months..,getting numbers..but girls are just not interested.
So my looks dont help.
