This is a bad example dude and I have an even worse one:
I have an uncle who at 18 got married to a girl, also 18. They had 3 kids together, then a little later he got out of the military and into an accountant job with a bit of money. He laid his eyes on a young secretary and they started an affair. The young secretary asked my uncle to divorce his wife and re-marry her, which he did, then she forbade him to see his 3 other children and deny their existence completely, which he did. He then had 2 other children with her and down the road a bit around the 15th year of marriage, she had an affair and left him. He went on a soul searching journey all around the world and finally settled down to marry a Chinese girl, he hasn't really spoken to ANY of his kids now and lives full-time in China for the last 8 or so years. He never provided any of his kids with help, attention or affection and now when he emails them, they tell him to get bent. He still doesn't think what he did was selfish in any way, shape or form and is still 'searching for his soul'.
Well one of his kids turned out to be a lesbo, the other two were mega-*****es, the next marriage, one got into drugs heavily and is now laden in debt with 2 marriages and a bunch of kids himself. The other girl married but is having problems holding it together. So really what legacy did he leave? Obviously he had a hand in making these children dysfunctional.
I think Bill Young is probably not much different, a selfish ****head who never gave a damn about anyone but himself. He will likely be remembered as such by the only people that really mattered in his life: His family.
I think Sosuave needs to sticky a thread about RESPONSIBILTY... there are tons of threads about getting girls in bed, bagging hotties, being an alpha but there isn't ANY about the consequences of your actions, having babies, creating a family and ruining people's lives through poor decision making.
