I know I've typed this many times here already... but since this boyfriend topic gets brought up all the time by different people, I will type it here again:
Just like the French would say: girls/women are like parking spaces, the best ones are always taken. Remember this, and stop the self limiting "taken = off limit" dogma.
May I add that although the parked cars don't occupy the spaces forever, you need to be at the right place at the right time in order to get a good spot for yourself. Sure if you are "smart" and observing, in average you can get your spots faster and better, but nothing beats a big chunk of luck.
I think it's not good to discard the fact that the girl's taken, trying to break up happy couples isn't cool, plus most likely you will only crash and burn.
However, as long as the chick isn't married, we should be aware of her attitude towards you, be responsive to her actions.
Maybe she's tired of her boring boyfriend, maybe she's doing the monkey branching and the next branch she's reaching out to is you.
Or maybe she' really happy about her relationship, maybe she just dumped another guy for him and their relationship is still fresh and exciting.
Just observe and act accordingly. Never say never but also never take things for sure until you have them.
