I have always been secretly offended when a girl texts me and refers to me as 'u'.

"How r u?"

Am I just being too old-fashioned?

I feel like saying "If you can't type the 'yo' then f u!"

Don't be offended, cause they're not doing it intentionally to be rude or disrespectful. If it really bothers u, find someone who doesn't do it :)

Texting is full of shortcuts, abbreviations, slang, and very loose grammar to minimize typing. It is absolutely not intended to be rude.
