Remember that I'm German and live in Munich.
Yesterday being the 4th of July, there was a large group of American students celebrating outside on the dormitory lawn. I knew one or two, so I went up to them and chatted for a while. They're students from American schools doing their junior year in Munich, so there's a new pack every year. I knew the ones who were here five years ago quite well.
I took a good look at the women who were there (60 people total, 50% women), and all I can say is I seriously pity you guys over there in the US.
For a while now I've been reading you guys' posts about how American women are just a total waste of time nowadays, and I can now total relate.
50% were downright fat, a further 30% on the chubby side. The 20% skinny ones were snobby bitches, with the exception of 2 or so nerdy ones.
What was even more disturbing was the attitudes the fat ones had. Most of them were entitled bitches as well. One especially was presented to me as "the most sarcastic person ever" (read: 'smart'). It took me about 30 seconds and four comebacks to take that crown from her. After which she proceeded to call me "inferior" and generally be the biggest bitch ever. In the end, when I said something along the lines of "honey, the grownups are talking" while touching her shoulder (admittedly a condescending gesture), she slapped me and said "don't touch me". It took me a second to register what had just happened (I'd had a beer or two), I was just so ****ing surprised. Never had a girl be that aggressive physically for no good reason. I just left her there without another word.
Now, for me, this doesn't matter at all... but considering these are actual college students going abroad for a year, which to me means they aren't exactly the bottom of the barrel, I can see what you guys have to deal with on a daily basis. Granted, they're only 20-22, but, I mean, ****.
I've got to say, though, while I did get along well with the guys who were there, they're not exactly flying high either. All American women I know here complain that American men don't know how to dress. It's true. I don't put a huge amount of effort into my wardrobe, but my clothes are clean and well-fitting and always match. I've been told several times that I'd be considered "gay" in the US. There seems to be a lesser degree of personal care/grooming amongst US men.
Of course, all of this is just based on the sample of Americans college students I saw yesterday. I know a few exceptions, but those people actually live and work here.
What I'm trying to say is, even though German women aren't easy to deal with either, I seriously feel for you guys.
