I'm 25, and recently for the first time ever, I had a chick go cold turkey on me.
We've been talking no longer than a month. During the month, we only saw each other five times, and each encounter turned intimate, but we never had sex (more on that later).
The last week of the month, she told me "I want to be your girlfriend", we talked about it, seemed like an okay move, and went from there.
Like most of the other cold turkey stories I'm reading, everything was smooth sailing... there were no signs or signals what so ever that she would lose it. She was cooking for me, had me meet her dad and even left her house open before she took a trip to see some friends for the weekend.
"That weekend" I mentioned is when sh!t got weird. Friday we woke up at her place, took a shower together. I dropped her off from work later that day and she said she was grabbing dinner with her dad and would see me later that night before she left.
Later after dinner with her dad, she ended up texting me saying "hey I left... I was busy, sorry I couldnt see you but I left the house open for you<3" The next morning I'm browsing facebook and notice she'd blocked me. I didn't hear from her all day (and made no attempts myself to keep from looking desperate). Finally around 11pm I called her, no response. Sunday I get a text that simply read "We can't be together, I'm honestly not ready for this."
And that was that. I didn't respond to her or try to call her. According to many of my friends, that was the best move as it allows me to keep some form of control in a seemingly hopeless situation. Most of them said "give it time man, she'll call you crying in a few days and you can go from there".
Was that the best move, what do you guys think?
As for the sex, this girl has a particularly nasty reputation so when we first hung out, I told her I was only going to go so far. The next time an opportunity arose she told me she wanted to wait and be sure "because I like you"... and the third attempt, whiskey **** conquered me (yeah, ouch... I know).
Any thoughts or input will be greatly appreciated, thanks gents.
