Hey howzit? Just wondering if anyone has an RSX and how they like it. I test drove the base 5 speed and it was awesome, does anyone have the 6 speed type s? if so how do you like it?

Any feedback is appreciated

Better suggestion, although the RSX-S has a great interior with acura badges, it is really just a dressed up Civic Si w/ some VTEC. I drove a friends RSX-S and it has a nice 6 spd, looks good and gets good gas mileage, but compared to my WRX sedan with cobb tuning reflash of the ECU (260 hp/265tq @ the crank), it was slow.

Before I got the WRX in 2003, I drove a jetta GLi (VR6), a RSX type S and a WRX. Yeah the WRX, has cheaper interior, but It's a very good sports sedan. I got the WRX.

I would suggest getting a WRX, flashing the ECU for 600, getting some ultra high performance all seasons ( the stock RE92 s limit the handling a whole lot)on there like falken 512 for 400 and you will have a nice quick all wheel drive ride...

With little cash you can make a stock WRX into a really quick and well handling ride...

Oh yeah, I had a recent encounter with an RSX-S with exhust, and the results were not pretty from a slow roll in my STI...I shut down by 60 with a buslength, lol.

The RSX-S is a very very nice car. Its a honda so you know the engine will last forever. Its got a nice interior and just a superiour car.

True its no WRX but the RSX-S is still a very nice car.

IMO, it makes a great daily driver but lacks in the power delivery department. I'd get one as a DD if they were cheaper.

Dodge "Neon" SRT would be my choice for a front wheel drive daily driver @ 20K,a very good turbo motor, the SRT will rape an RSX-S from a roll. I would not care what the brand of the car that can do mid to high 13s 1/4 mile at a 103-trap speed. But I care more about performance than looks...

How about the Sentra Spec V 6 speed...

Both the spec V and the SRT have front LSDs to get the power to the pavement, the RSX does not.

I like the RSX-S, I think it is a good car, depending on what you are looking for. Nice interior, good gas mileage, nice shifter, etc, but I also agree a bit over priced. Seems like more of a chick car to me. Buy a Civic Si and save some cash.

Subaru makes some of the most over engineered japanese car out there. I drove WRX for 38 K miles with not a problem @ 260 crank crank levels. As far as potential, drop about 2.5 K for mods into a WRX Sedan: just an exhust setup (upipe/downpipe) and a reflashed ECU (cobb stage 2) makes you a Reliable 285 ish crank hp (just about an STI level) for 1200. Get a set of 17' Rota rims with Summer Tires ~1200, and you will have a ride that will school 98% of the cars out their with a mid 13 1/4 mile and a 100ish trap speed, that always hooks it up the pavement with its AWD.

I have driven a few cars in that price range and thats just an opinion...just many other good choices out there, go drive a few cars and see what you like.

Yea the WRX Impreeza is pretty nice and that stock HP is pretty awesome.. I would probably get a Lancer Evo over a WRX though.

I'm not really into American cars.. I have driven a Dodge before and it was alright but not really what I want. I have always liked Japanese cars. (2 door coupes mostly)

I mostly like the style of the RSX and the way it handles, also that VTEC is no joke.. for a 4 cyl to wind up to 8,000 RPM its gotta have some power.. from what I have heard/read the RSX doesn't reach its full potential until around 5,500RPM but after that its a rocket.. talkin like 140 half way through 5th..

thanks for the replies, I will go and test drive a few other cars before making my decision..

any opinions on nissan 350z, infinity g35 coupe, or mitsubishi eclipse?

Oh god yes, that car is awesome. I love it so much, its so beautiful.

The engine is awesome, a 3.5L v6 aluminum engine putting out 263 hp enabling it to go not-60 in 5.4 seconds.

The track(perfomance now) model is awesome except you lose noise deadening to make up for the lighter weight. You get a better suspension and all around better car. You also get brembo brakes which are kick ass. It's the fastest roadster in 0-60, and 1/4 mile. It doesn't handle as good as the s2000 but it's close enough.

A few draw backs about the track model are that you lose the leather and 6 disk cd changer options, but it's still very

You could even get the 35th aniversary in Ultra Yellow and get all the performance options while all the luxory. Definetely a good choice.

The G35 is essentially the same car with some luxory features. The sports coupe can have all the same options as the performance with all the luxory features, but you get the added weight.

The eclipse is crap, Stay away from mitsubishi like the plague. For one thing mitsubishi is going banktupt and that car is slow and gaudy to say the least.

Now all we need is someone b*tching about the torque steer on the SRT-4.

The RSX-S is a nice ride, get that 200 hp motor.

THe SRT-4 is nice, I have heard about the torque steer, but still an impressive ride for 20K, does the 2005 have a front LSD?

The Mitsu lancer evolution is far from slow, the 2.0 liter 4gD3 motor is proven to make crazy hp easy. It is good ride...
I do a agree that Mitsu is in some Cash trouble, plus the Evo interior is really lacking, but it handle like a go cart, not really into the laggy turbo below 3000 rpms plus it might not be the ideal daily driver with the quick handling.

I drive an 2005 STi, prior to that a 2003 WRX. I wanna run a M3 one of these days while I'm still stock, nice rides for sure. M3 vs STi is a drivers race.If you can afford the M3 great, but I'll save 20K to invest, and drop 4K in mods on an STi...and leave the M3 seeing tailights...

Go drive an STi before the the 350Z or the G35, different animals for sure. In terms of arm chair racing, Stock for stock the STi will outhandle (its handling is on par with some exotics), outbrake ( STI has brembos, forged BBS rims)and out accelerate (4.6 0 to 60 even with an extra shift, low 13 1/4 mile @ 103-105 stock) those rides in the dry, never mind in the wet with its fantastic AWD system with DCCD and Yaw / G sensors and an almost bombproof 6 spd.

Think the G35 is coming out in some new trim level 298 hp, 6 spd, sports package? More bling factor...

I agree the G35 or 350Z will be a pimp ride, but I prefer something a bit different with the STi. I don't need leather other than on the steering wheel and shifter. The STi is not the best ride ever, but a great all around package. Go drive one and see what I mean.

The stock WRX is good but needs some mods ~2.5 K, but you might be better off with a stock Mitsu Evo, a bit cheaper than an STi, but a little less refined. Drive an AWD pocket rocket then come back and tell us how it compares to the RSX-S.

Let's go one step further....

Fourth generation M5.

Zero to sixty (100 kilometers per hour) in 4.7 seconds.

500 horsepower and it has a V-10 engine.

How about keeping it within a price range, say under...40K.

C6 vette or even a Z06 vette over a M3.

I'd take a new C6 vette, an STi, and a Caravan w/chrome spinners for the price of the M5.

BMW are the best cars EVAR...lol

o_O

You obviously know very little about both vehicles. Just because its 500 hp v-10 5100lb truck does not mean it would beat a 400hp 3200lb car.

Look at the specs for both vehicles.

Though they may be priced the same, I'd rather get the vette any day of the week
