The RSX-S is a nice ride, get that 200 hp motor.
THe SRT-4 is nice, I have heard about the torque steer, but still an impressive ride for 20K, does the 2005 have a front LSD?
The Mitsu lancer evolution is far from slow, the 2.0 liter 4gD3 motor is proven to make crazy hp easy. It is good ride...
I do a agree that Mitsu is in some Cash trouble, plus the Evo interior is really lacking, but it handle like a go cart, not really into the laggy turbo below 3000 rpms plus it might not be the ideal daily driver with the quick handling.
I drive an 2005 STi, prior to that a 2003 WRX. I wanna run a M3 one of these days while I'm still stock, nice rides for sure. M3 vs STi is a drivers race.If you can afford the M3 great, but I'll save 20K to invest, and drop 4K in mods on an STi...and leave the M3 seeing tailights...
Go drive an STi before the the 350Z or the G35, different animals for sure. In terms of arm chair racing, Stock for stock the STi will outhandle (its handling is on par with some exotics), outbrake ( STI has brembos, forged BBS rims)and out accelerate (4.6 0 to 60 even with an extra shift, low 13 1/4 mile @ 103-105 stock) those rides in the dry, never mind in the wet with its fantastic AWD system with DCCD and Yaw / G sensors and an almost bombproof 6 spd.
Think the G35 is coming out in some new trim level 298 hp, 6 spd, sports package? More bling factor...
I agree the G35 or 350Z will be a pimp ride, but I prefer something a bit different with the STi. I don't need leather other than on the steering wheel and shifter. The STi is not the best ride ever, but a great all around package. Go drive one and see what I mean.
The stock WRX is good but needs some mods ~2.5 K, but you might be better off with a stock Mitsu Evo, a bit cheaper than an STi, but a little less refined. Drive an AWD pocket rocket then come back and tell us how it compares to the RSX-S.
