According to many women, I appear "very calm"

I've heard this comment many times, but two have struck with me.

One came from a girl at work, over the phone (I answer calls from colleagues that I see on a daily basis to help them out) and the girl said she didn't recognize me over the phone (although we are only 4 guys in my department doing the jobs and I'm the only one named Nick) because I sounded very calm.

Then yesterday, at a youth hostel in Ireland, a girl from Holland said she thought I was a lot older than 24. She didn't say I look older, but I seem older because I am very calm.

I never pushed the subject with any girl that has mentioned that (comment only came from women) but I'm getting curious, what do you think they mean by that, and would it be a good or a bad thing?


I think I started getting those comments when I became more mindful of the way I move around and act (became less fidgety, looking less around, deliberately taking more time to do things, not rushing, not replying immediately when someone talks to me or jump on the occasion to start talking when someone mentions my name, etc.).

I used to get this, at least the "you seem older" part.

But that was back when I was quiet and took myself way too seriously.

Now I crack jokes more and am much more open and expressive.
